Read it a while ago, interesting article.

A question though…does that mean Zoic and Atmosphere will no longer be doing the VFX for the next season?

I read it that way. On the other hand, the same people working on the show at Zoic seems to have moved with the production to the new in house crew, according to the article.

^yeah, they’ve been gone for a while now… don’t remember exactly when it was but I think it was after 2nd season all the fx wend completely in house.

This is an interesting tutorial that shows many of the specific setups they use in LW for the BSG effects… (some interesting rants as well) :wink:

I think it was during the third season this transition happened. I know that Atmosphere did all the work with the destruction of Pegasus. Check this, this and this. Check out the movie with audiocommentary on the last link. Sweet stuff indeed. :slight_smile:
