The prostitution of the butterfly

Hi everybody!

This unfinished work is an homage to the film “My little princess” of Eva Ionesco, one of my favourite movie. I have so much to do on this work, for example volume and light to work and I want to add more details too.

please feel free to give your feedback on improvement, I really want to progress.

The main thing I noticed was the problem of readability. The image is hard to understand because you have fairly flat and similar valued shapes overlapping each other, creating convoluted silhouettes that are hard to read clearly. What you need to do, is to give all the shapes adequate amounts of modeling according to your lighting scheme, so that they have readable forms that don’t just merge together.

Agreed with lunatique. I very much like the concept and the colors. It looks as though you have a strong warm light coming from the left, and a weaker, cool light coming from the right. This isn’t reflected in the shading of your figures. It makes them look pasted into your piece instead of existing in your environment.

It may be a better idea to focus on the lighting and shading before moving on to the smaller details.

Good luck!

Thank you for your feedback.
I have a bit difficult with the light and volumes. But I will continue to work this.
This is a first test. I hope I haven’t made too many mistakes. =_=
