As someone working on my own short film, your “making of” was incredibly useful. Thank you.
Nice film.

wow…feking ace! does the dvd have all the behind the scenes goodness? i’m buying. ![]()
6 years in the making and still beyond its time.
Wow, all these compliments are doing my head in - thanks everybody! I do frequent this forum to find out what’s news, and surprise surprise, today it turns out to be me.

There are a few in the online making of - I can't put too much online though or I'll spoil the DVD - but if I'm badgered enough perhaps I'll consider uploading a couple more. ;)
Well I did get a couple of job offers, but my mind was in a different place by the time I finished. So I suppose it achieved its original goal, just a few years too late..! I'm more inclined to try and get my own projects up at the moment (while leaving the door ajar for potential offers in case that falls apart).
I think the shipping is free up until Christmas (still slow though probably). No immediate plans for a downloadable version I'm afraid - the logistics of that are presently beyond me...

Very inspirational, Chris, I can’t believe you managed to stay focused on your goal while working on this alone and for so long. The result is right up there with the best shorts I’ve seen. Thanks for the detailed making-of, it was a really good read too.
Finally!
Saw the trailer for this what feels like a million years ago… Just read the making of on your site Chris - absolutely staggering effort & a sobering insight for everyone who wants to makes a short film off their own back.
Fantastic work - DVD ordered!
I am so impressed and humbled by this work. I can’t even begin to describe my admiration for your dedication to an eight year adventure. So glad to see you never signed that contract with the 50/50 split. It must be interesting to compare today’s technological advances in the 3d realm with what you had to work with 8 years ago. I’m sure your rigging problem is an easy fix today and render times would probably be cut way down. So what’s next for you? Do you think you will set out to do a short animation again? Would you bring people on board to help you or do it all yourself? Either way, you’ve made a remarkable animation and mastered many areas of 3d I have only begun to scratch the surface on, not to mention other skill sets. Wish you the best.
Whoa!!! I am among the others who are just floored. Great work, and very inspiring.:bowdown::bowdown:
This is far better than some of the shorts I have seen by pixar. It all comes together to tell a very good and entertaining short story.
Hope you are doing exceeding well now thanks to all your effort over that time period.
Wow, wow… Wow…
This is nothing short of top notch work. I am noting but impressed with the quality of every aspect of this short. You nailed it man! Loved the story, loved the animation, the lighting, everything. Congrats!!! Im in awe, and still laughing…
Chris, It is just incredible what you have done.
That shows mastery of so many elements that I’m actually quite frightened of you.
On another note, I’m interested in what software you used. I couldn’t see from your site. I saw that Lightwave was in there.
Nice work all around, I almost feel sorry for you:), I hope you get to feel some sort of satisfaction, you really should, this is an amazing short. Great job!!!
