The Mocaptionator’s Handbook V1.0

#1

Hey folks,

I put together some of my notes on using motion capture into a short article for animators.

You can check it out here:

The Mocaptionator’s Handbook V1.0

Hope it helps point you in the right direction!

Great Work, I hope people check it out and print it and read it and give it to producers

The link works fine on this end.

Matt, this stuff is gold for people who are just getting to know mocap and even for people who have been working with it for a while. Thanks for sharing all this info!!

Hey thanks, everyone. That took a bit to finish up. The article was also posted over at the Motion Capture Society website in the Hitchikers Guide To Motion Capture forum. You can find a bunch of other great info in there like cost estimates/breakdowns, mocap phrases/terminology, etc.

Brad, I was under the impression that part of being a producer is avoiding any information that might make the production process smoother. Lolzzz. Seriously though, I want to thank you again for putting together that class on key framing in MBR. Super friggin’ helpful.

Glad to finally get these notes out on the nets, Elektronaut. Haha… about the video suggestion… that’s exactly the same conclusion we came to at the last shop I was with. That takes a bit longer to do than typing/adding screenshots, though.
