#408

Great work again Laurent.Keep up the great work dude.

There’s many things which can arrange that… textures - bumps - little details… normally, that will be good… or enough…

I used all types of polys… depend of the goal in fact… the more is about quad… sometimes n-gons, but only if I’m sure of the triangulation… if not… I triangulate manually these n-gons or quads to force the triangulation, and of course, to obtain the normals orientation needed…
For that, Maya is very usefull… I’ve always much pleasure to modelize…

Thanks Beckie… good way… but a long way… but the good thing for me, if that I have more of 3 months to finish it :scream:

Thanks Rishikesh… glad you appreciate my project, even if the way seem a little bit strange… seeya

Thanks a lot for the good words Dennis

Hahahaha… I can’t imagine the SIPGGRAPH 1900… :stuck_out_tongue:

hahaha… furry Queen… I can’t really imagine… :curious: hahaha…
Yes, it’s really a bird… a cow… tha animal symbol of france… but I don’t know if a closer view is necessary… just some couples of polygons… good of far… nothing more :wise:
…but maybe it will be more visible in the next update, the statue situated at the top… “la parisienne”…

it’s always ok for me Cadet !

I’m very impatient to see it finished… but remain much to do… times run anyway… thanks Antone…

Nice to see you here Maciej… a real pleasure… but if I remeber well your previous challenge… the charge of work was very strong too… with all this town with its environment you made… not ? something incredible and spectacular… thanks to stop by…

Gracias amigo mio… good motivation to continue…

Thanks mate…

In the Paris World’s Fair 1900… you can take a look in my project website… or in the project WIP on CgTalk… if you are interesting by this kind of things…

Even me… I feel like a mini-ant front of this architectur Mona… and always humble…

Thanks Thierry… thanks to push me with your words… a great motivated help.

…well… I continue Corrie… thanks

Good morning Laurent!

I’ve really overlooked this gate yesterday:surprised …I think I was to busy with the “queen of the night” imagination:blush: …

Very impressive this entrance, I wish I could be there, spring in Paris…waiting for the opening:love: …

Yes I did alot of work on the Spectacular challeng but not as so much as you here. It looks like you exploded all polygon counts on the planet  Have you a renderfarm for the final image?

Anyway I keep an eye on that and wish you all the best.
Have fun :buttrock:

#414

I don’t know exactly if I will be able to do it… but that will be very cool if I can finish this gate before the April 14… exactly the day of the official opening of this Wolrd’s Fair… but 106 years after…
…remain me for something as 20 days… possible :wise: it’s maybe a kind of sign…

This time, I’m trying to manage more the polycount… more than in the previous challenges… I must always think that must be re-used after, in my World’s Fair Project…

#415

Just some polygons, huh? But as usual some polygons in the exact right place
Looking forward to the render of the statue then!
And I assume the bird is a crow and not a cow? :curious:

Go go now, Furry Friend

#417

Hey Ali… it’s nice to see you here… thanks for your words… and you ? no participation this time ?
…very nice avatar mate, I hope to see you more soon… have a nice day my friend :deal:

Hahahaha… a cow… but what I have in my mind this morning when I wrote that… sorry… this bird is the symbol of france… the “French Cockerel” (thanks to the dictionary…).

I’m again very late today… update now…

#418

Very light in polys, the statue of the top… very simple without the bump detailing…

This statue represent the town of Paris… named “La Parisienne”… created by Mr Moreau-Vauthier.

#419

…a little bit larger view.

#420

Nice Laurent
Really beautiful …
