welcome on board and good luck to ya!

I’ve thought about the image when I read the imformation of the CGChallenge, but so sorry I delayed some time for the job reason.
From today I will show you the image I drew before and I’ll draw after. Welcome you giving the valuable advice.

It’s so excited as I thought the scene that the character will face. So I directly drafted the Sketch on PHOTOSHOP and it’s very rough. This is one of my habit of drawing, yet I weren’t always acting like that. Just sometimes I felt too detailed in the fore period would let you lose the passion in the later. I like adding some temporary thought into the image in the process of drawing. Though it will make me fall in a terrible fix to deal with the whole effect at last. But I still delight in it and never get tired of it.

Hey - your sketch has plenty of energy and life - will look forward to see how the journey emerges and how it develops! enjoy!

#5

 hu ho…i have a bad feeling about this…

Thanks,better will follow.

#7

This step is simple, just putting some color roughly.

#8

I can’t quite tell what’s going on just yet, but it’s got a lot of energy to it and a really nice flow… Looking forward to seeing what it turns into! Good luck!

Great sketches and colour studies…

It looks quite abstract when looking close up, but made complete sense when you look at the thumbnail.

Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing how this turns out…

Journey is often full of danger and difficulties instead of smooth all the way. What I want to describe is a ship in the voyage meeting the misfortune that no one ever met before. Sounds so incredible! Maybe here you could see nothing at all, don’t worry, just like the journey, surprise always appears at last…

#12

First I’ll depict the waves. It’s not the common ones, but composed of fish-man troops. Also they are not the fish-man in fact but the water in the shape of fish-man!

#13

Here need to show the “water surface”. I designed fish-man roughly and invert the image, adjust the layers to color dodge then put it on the canvas.
At last drew the details.

#14

There’s another coming troops whipping up huge waves of fish-man. Guess who are they? My design is troops of —knights.

#15

They’re the knights troops which composed of clouds. And here is the beginning fo the war.

All these incredible things are met by a sailing ship in a long voyage. We can imagine what will happen next. And the people who witness the misfortune will leave the strongest impression through life. Human beings appear to small and helpless. I divided the whole image into three parts to promote the plots: the sinking ship in the distance, the fleeing ship in the middle and close up two people fleeing and falling into the water, one breathes deeply and another is frightened to death.
