Very nice painting. You are obviously very talented, and I wish I was half as good. You certainly deserve all the praise leveled at you here, but I’m slightly surprised that there are so few critical comments, as the image in my opinion has lots of room for improvement still. The two areas that mostly attract my “critical attention” are the soldiers forearm, which seems too short, and the womans lower body, from her waist to below the knees. This whole area of her body seems poorly defined; it’s hard to determine the geometry and position of her limbs, and their implied position is contradicted by the shading/smoothness of her skin around the thighs and hips?

I’m not knowledgeable enough to suggest concrete ways to improve this last issue, but perhaps someone else knows more, or maybe you have some ideas yourself. It may even be possible that I’m nitpicking, considering noone else has complained about it, but these are my thoughts and impressions when I look at your image.

PS: someone mentioned the difference between the breasts, but I think you are right in assuming that the skin would/could behave like this when the torso is bent like this.

I like the realistic way which her body has been made.

I second that, the natural body shape of the woman, her skin and tone immediately had me thinking of Frank’s work.

Great job!

This picture takes my breath away! The skin of the woman is awesome and the background relief
and the jewelry and …and…and… are brilliant. You have the Midas touch. Grats!
