Well the original post about the challenge had always said May 15th ( if I’m not mistaken ) so that part never changed, it did say 3weeks also, but I went with the May 15th part.

I understand where you guys are coming from, but for a guy like me, its a blessing. I don’t work in the field, so I don’t model half as much as I would like to, and therefore I’m kinda slow at it. I work 9hr days six days a week, add an hr for traveling to and from work, so that’s 10hrs a day gone. then 5 - 7hrs of sleep, and the rest left for daily tasks. I don’t have all that time to work on something as complex as this. So I’m speaking for myself when I say that this challenge is challenging, and I’m glad I have the extra 5days.

Besides, now you guys have a lil more time to enhance your already awesome models to perfection.:bowdown:

i got few question for the final submission
where do we post the final render?
does the dimension of the final render have to be 1600x1200 ?
because most of our models are vertical.
and since this is modeling do we just do our final render from one angle or different angles and composite them in one image? need some specific direction.

Ok here is how we are going to do this…
The orange text is the NEW rules

[li]BEAUTY RENDER:[/li]Final RENDERS should be rendered at 1600 X 1200 [color=darkorange]OR 1200 x 1600 in JPG format.(post only as link) A smaller 800x 600 OR 600 x 800 image should be posted.

  • This is your beauty render, it may be comprised of a collage of multiple renders of your model.
    [/ul]
    [ul]
    [li]ORTHOGRAPHIC RENDERINGS:[/li]Ortographic renderings ARE REQUIRED and should be rendered at 800 x 600 [color=darkorange]OR 600x800.

  • [/color]This means you need to submit renders of the from the Front, Sides (2), Back, Top and bottom. The renders might be done as a Quickshade or Beauty Render.

NEW RULE! (VOLUNTARY!)

[li]TURNTABLE ANIMATION. [/li]- I recomentd to aid the voters a turntable rendering of the model. It would have to be done in QuickTime or Windows Media at a resolution of 600 x 400 OR 300 x 200. The render might be done as a Quickshade or Beauty Render.
[/ul][size=2]All the renders go in the WIP, ALSO post the Beauty Render (And if you wish, the turntable anim) here at the core challenge thread. [/size]

turntables sound a really good idea to judge the quality of models. im definitely doing it.

For this particular model, a size of 1600x1200 doesn’t seem appropriate.
A height of 1600 and width of about 700 fits the model in perfectly. A width of 1200 just leaves a ton of blank space at ether side of the figure, which seems pretty pointless.

Finshed at last wipes brow

60 hours well spent I think. This is the hardest model I’ve ever made, but it’s also the best result I’ve had, and I’ve learned more from making it than any other model I’ve done.
I would never have had the willpower or stamina to complete something like this had it not been for this competition.
Well done to anyone else who completes this.

I’m very disappointed with myself, I didn’t get to do the whole thing like I was hoping to. So I’m only going to enter in a body part or parts rather, only the hands and head are missing. ( plus a few places that needed some tweaking here and there )

So from the navel down is pretty much what I’m entering.

I will finish it, I spent too much time not too.

Well here is mine. If only that I have more time and enough sources. This is my first entry to a challenge so I just post what I have finish up until now. I have learned a few things along this challenge and I think this is good practice so I am really looking forward for the next one. Thank you for looking.
