I haven’t used Lightwave in a few years and even I can think of 3 lscripts off the top of my head that CIM has written. FastIK, a UV stitcher and a progressive save for modeler. To say he has never given anything constructive to the LW community is totally false.

You’re right Leigh.
But you know how it is…a person can grate on your nerves for only so long before you have to confront that person and let them know what is what.
I know that CIM’s personal mission in life is to cause mayhem and distruption…and as much as I respect a these type of acts, sometimes they are just too much. They lack focus and any real purpose.
I’m not asking that we all be nice and sweet, but I am asking for some rational behaviour from time to time…I mean…that’s what being human is about. Bang your drums loudly…but have a purpose that is about growth, change and progress.
Anyway…i’ve turned off my ability to read anything by CIM…so I’ll be in the dark about anything he has to mutter and bitch about from here on out.
If you can’t change a person you can at least shut them out of your life.

I think invader CIM has a sense of humor. :twisted: He seemed to take the April Fool’s day thread about his short term employment with Newtek pretty well. 
I guess I’m used to seeing his contrarian views about Newtek posted here. Not a big deal really.:shrug:

It’s funny. First you bash him for not providing anything useful and would pack his bags for him if he would leave. Oh, you use one if his scripts and says it rocks. Pretty opportunistic. On principle, maybe you shouldn’t use the script, don’t you think?
I’m all for people expressing their oppinion, but often in a lesser way than the "why don’t you get the f*ck out kind of way Policarpo.
I indeed think you’re taking it too seriously. LW is a tool, a good at that, but definately not perfect, and definately frustrating…just ask the Mac users, because they haven’t been treated equal from Newtek. Would you still have the same views if you were on a Mac?

Cool…i’ll give you that. But in all honesty I don’t use FastIK or any IK for that matter since I’m not a character animator. I am horrible at rigging and don’t have the patience for it ya know. My primary function with LightWave is for print work, and the occasional UI and logo animation. I would love to develop my character animation skills, but I know people who are far better than me at it…and I think it’s sensible to lean on people’s strengths to make the best use of talent on projects. Why hire a dentist to set a broken leg?
I’ve said what I’ve had to say on the matter. I’m off my hobby horse and CIMian bashing…
And for what it is worth…I use LightWave on the PC and on the Mac under OSX, so I’ve seen it on both sides of the fence…but I am pretty nimble and when I hit a wall on the Mac I move to the PC to alleviate any frustration. I believe in using tools which help to get the job done quickly, efficiently and without too much pain. Why suffer on any platform?
I don’t know…say what you will, but I think life and creativity is about solving problems and not being burdened with what you are given. It’s up to each individual to remove the shackles which bind them and keep them from realizing their true potential as artists and human beings.

I think this thread and users bashing each other has just gone out of control. Really…
You know it is never what is being said, but the way it is being said that is a problem. Cim, you should really try to improve your way of talking to people and the way you say things. It will make it a lot easier for people to accept your points. But starting litterally dozens of threads all over the web, where you complain on how much LW sucks, is not going to be helpfull at all. If you happened to just say: “Hey, I just noticed that this could be improved by adding that, or changing that.” People would be more likely to agree with you.
But just saying," LightWaves renderer sucks, or Lightwaves animation- tools suck", is not very onstructive and it is not true at all. But if you happened to say: “hmm one could make it a bit faster here and there or add this feature and that, because it would be helpfull because of that”. I am sure many people will agree with you…
I can understand emotions going high because of that, like Policarpo’s.
So and now just all shake hands and be friendly again, ok?

I am sure Cim is not a bad guy(he is a LWer how can he be a bad guy?). He just has a very bad way of communicating with people…
Once he manages to express his opinions in a less offensive way, people will love to go on beer with him right? (anyone who dares to contradict me now, will be beaten until death
