I took some reference pics to maybe help you out some, Arty! I think I am too embarassed to display them right in this post, but here are the links:

I definitely don’t have her face, but maybe it will help with the hand and eyes?

Hey Vizon thank you How sweet of you. You’re lookin’ great girl
I’m working on the hair and the liquiddrops tonight. Might have a go at the hand tomorrow

(btw where were you when I started this painting  )

#83

quotes himself for agreement

I knew it!

Through your struggles you still managed to keep that magic of the working sketch and still produce this refined painting with that enchanting composition.

anticipating the final refinements!

Hi Mr. Mu, thanks for your comment. I’ve looked at your anatomy thread and I’d say that You’re doing fine yourself too:arteest:

#85

Arty2, I was very impressed with the first page or so of this thread a while ago - then I didn’t see it for a while and have just checked back - I am totally stunned! Really beautiful work here  can’t wait for the finished version. Great stuff

#86

i think just about everyone here agrees that you have done something wonderful with this picture, we all eagerly await the final copy but in the meantime we’d love to see an update wink >.>

#87

sighs with dumbwitted self-satisfaction upon receiving a compliment by someone like Arty2

#88

This is coming along very well. Lovely colours too.

#89

@ Elsie: Thanks, I really appreciate your nice comment

@ tyrful: Thanks I’ve learned many things while working on this painting but I still make many mistakes and have to repaint a lot. So progress is slow.

@ Mr Mu: I meant it

@JMcWilliams: thank you. What an incredible project you’re working on, great stuff

@ Vizon: How do you like YOUR hand? I think it’s a great improvement

I was really surprised that someone would go though all that trouble for a total stranger (me) Thank you sooooooooooooo much for your modeling pic’s!

Found this little spider
. I couldn’t resist…

#90

The previous small fairy didn’t fit in…so I painted a new one.

#91

Emile! I love, love, love that tiny bumblebee…you got it perfectly! It’s wonderfully spontaneous and cool!

I love watching this thread…seeing you progress is fun and interesting too.

Will you be entering the next CGChallenge? I will and hope to see you in there as well, Emile!

#92

wow! Beautiful details!!

#93

the new lil fairy looks so much better arty~my goodness~the details are just overwhelming~

#94

The details are awesome, I’ll be watching you!

#95

Wonderful thread to watch! the progress is awesome to see unfolding
Glad you changed the hand and fairy, and that bumblebee vehicle is soooooo facken cute!

#96

The new additions give your piece more life. Great job. Keep goin

#97

@ paperclip: When I started this painting I wanted several insects flying around but when TCSF took so much space I abandoned this idea. Then the previous small fairy started to bother me, it just didn’t fit in.
The new fairy brought this bumblebee along and made it a much more adventurous scene I think she’s here to stay
Next CGchallenge? Well who knows? ( I’ll be watching you anyway  )
Theresa, thanks for your nice words. Have lots of fun in Rome!

@enialadam: Thank you. It was fun to watch your fairytale paintings too, Snow white’s my fav.

@sh@ke: Thanks Michael, ( if I only could have a little bit of your speed & talent  )

@slickgreekgeo & @ thisly: Thanks a lot, I’m glad you like it

@se7enthcin: Thanks for your comment Andrew, I’ll finish this painting for sure.

I’ve painted another mouth ( as some of you suggested… ) but I’m not sure if this new mouth is a better choice
Old:

New: in anticipation…biting her lip, eager to devour her prey

#98

The teeth look awesame, but JUST a SLIGHT bit more red on the lips …

#99

@ Gitte, I thought the new mouth looked a bit silly when you see the whole painting, I’m not sure yet …

#100

I really like that bee and small fairy. Very well done sir, you are doing well :arteest:
