Hey, there. This is my first attempt at a matte painting, done just for kicks. It was originally inspired by the Bloc Party song “The Bluest Light” from their album Silent Alarm…but it kind of went a different direction. Anyway, I know very little about matte painting, so any comments and critiques on improving the image would be greatly appreciated.

And I tried putting together a animated gif sequence showing my process, but alas, I don’t know Flash al all, so my apologies on it’s crudeness. Whatever the case, it should roughly outline my process.
