the best format for export to 3DS max?

#1

I´ve tried several formats and I realise i always get a kind of extra geometry…

wondering if there is a best format suitable for export to 3ds max…

the .dwg format its one the retain the same form, but i wasnt able to convert that to a Poly…

any clues?

thanx in advance for anyone

What happens if you select the object in RHino then, File, Export, Selected - select .3ds format. Then import this into 3d Max? Does this add geometry? (The mesh settings at export are important)

maybe i expressed a bit wrong! i am not good at english

not really “add” geometry, but a lot of extra vertices and edges…

i am wondering if i could translate like I see in rhino inside 3ds max…

Maybe IGES format?

but i could not get the right parameters for that yet!

any help i would thank!!

and thanx mate for your reply

Get the nPower Power Translator plugin then you can import IGES/STEP/3DM files directly into Max as BREP (Surfaces and Solids).
