So, i"ve participated in Artstation’s contest, and even landed in ‘honorable mentions’ section, which is awesome, but i decided to take this piece further. Here’s the latest result, I will replace the smokes, Pose and animate the people, simulate the sails, texture the flag on the brig to the right, probably add some more areas exposed to sun. Also the rope in the foreground is bothering me. Do tell me what do you think and which areas you think deserve some more love, both in modelling and texturing/shading, since I’m not in a hurry and if i can make this piece better-why not!

While this isn’t the question you asked, but for me the only thing thats sticks out is what is the intended story behind this picture.
Since to me that is the most unclear part i really can’t tell what you should be focusing on, since what might be off for me, might be essential for you.
So the thing to work on is the general composition and readability. If its the clash of welathy and poor, then i can see poor, but wealthy isn’t that visible because i can’t understand which part is suposed to be weapthy, is it the white sail ship, or the combination of ships and buildings in the background.
It might actually be different idea you had in mind so think about it and gl with the picture, looking great sofar.
