Texturing Workshop: Creating a photorealistic human face

#61

Very cool, but you knew that. This will help me out in my goal to create at least one low poly character by the end of summer, if not beginning.

I never seemingly could wrap things around a 3-D model in my head. So this helps give a basic idea of how to do that.

Thanks! Love your avatar by the way.

What a kickass initiative cANT, nice descriptions, nice images. I love it

Extremly worth saving for offline readage. And good to see this was plugged, definitely deserves it.

Also, I’d say this is more suitable for gaming models where you are essentially faking the illumination and whatnot because of the nature in which those models will be used
You’ve basically painted in the effect of the spec maps, gloss maps, etc.

My thoughts exactly, I was looking if someone hadn’t mentioned this before.
Nice tutorial though!!

Since so many of you seemed to enjoy this tutorial, I made a quick PDF of it for you to download. I did a spell-check but some words I couldn’t figure out so I left as-is.

The file can be D’Loaded HERE>>>

I’ll leave it there for a few weeks so you can grab it. Those that miss it can email me for it after.

Enjoy

The Solid Snake: Yeah, as said it’s definitely more for game models!
mark_battista: Shure! Depends on the next char I am skinning. This guy will have shaved hair (comparable with the beard) so I won’t describe this technic again because I already did with the beard. Mut when the next char comes I will try to do my best with hair and writing a tutorial about it.

@all the others thanks for the great replies
