Texturing polygon faces problem

I modeled a polygonal circus ring with 50 subdivisions. I am trying to texture alternating faces of the ring exterior with a star in the center of a plane. Sometimes the star will appear on a face, most times not. I have assigned the file input to the color channel of the shader as a (file, texture, projection, stencil) with erratic results. I have tried adjusting the settings in place2Dtexture - no luck. I did get it to work on 1 face with the place3dtexture by adjusting the projection, but this seems to be the wrong approach. Do I need to make one map with a pattern to place on the object or is there a way to use one shader with the star on multiple faces? Any advice will be appreciated.

What do you mean ? If you’re trying to assign a texture, the way it’ll look will depend on UVs of a surface. You can wrap every face in the same square, so that when a texture will be assigned, they’re gonna share the same texture.
