Text objects- their origin and Halo materials on them

Hey there,

I’m having trouble making text glow.

It seems Halo needs many vertices to work better, but how do I do that for text in Blender?

I tried Alt c on the text but it converted it to curves (which I can’t convert to a mesh).

Does anyone know how to do this?

Oops and i was going to ask how can you edit the origin of a text object because “Set Origin” doesn’t seem to give you the option to move the origin to wherever I like.

a few ways. One way is to use the glow node in the Compositor.
Another way is to convert a copy of the text to a mesh, and then use a halo material for the mesh.
