WIP 03 : Without Glasses. Try to get the all face, since I may use it for Dutch or Conan character.
Terminator 2 Tribute: Styled characters
I did two more WIP , but you use my first one… you using an old wip to comment but I already try to correct it in the others versions. Need to know if my last nose is good, seems good to me.
Oh … my bad.
But there is still a problem. Look at his nose from side. Try to catch the shape
/maybe you have better side view…
p.s.: Forehead fix needed too.

WIP 05 :
[ul]
[li]I rework the sunglasses
[/li][li]Add the eyes
[/li][li]I work maybe too much on the cheeks.
[/li][li]I still try to get a good overall proportion.
[/li][li]I work now a Linear way.
[/li][li]I adjust the scale too match his real height (6’1", based on me, I don’t believe he is 6’2").
[/li][/ul]
I think the face still needs work. Even though it’s a cartoon, a good cartoon usually takes prominent features of the face and exaggerates them a bit. In Arnie’s case, he has a very distinctive chin, small eyes, and distinctive lips so try to pay attention to those in particular.
Right now, this is recognisable as the Terminator, but I think you could do a much nicer job of it with a bit more effort.
If you look, for example, at this cartoon of Arnie, you can see what I mean:

Notice how the artist has exaggerated the forehead, eyes, lips and chin.
Thanks Leigh, I will try to get some caricature in it. Even if I don’t really want to get this far in the style. This want to be close to Franco-belge BD or Comics.
But yah I need some exaggerated shapes
WIP 06 :
[ul]
[li]Define the cheek and chin
[/li][li]Add tempory Blendshapes for fun
[/li][li]Adjust the length of the arm.
[/li][li]Add Shirt and trouser.
[/li][li]Need to fix the mesh of the tshirt.
[/li][li]Define the tempory haircut (would like to do Hairs for that character)
[/li][/ul]
WIP 08 :
[ul]
[li]Refine the face to match more Arnold
[/li][li]Refine the jacket
[/li][li]Refine the shirt
[/li][/ul]
WIP 09 :
[ul]
[li]Add shader, no texture for know until I finish the modeling[/li][li]Refine the jacket[/li][li]Refine the shirt[/li][li]Add Belt[/li][li]Add Boots[/li][/ul]
WIP 010:
[ul]

New Post of WIP: 011
I edit an old post for it.
Will try to find time this weekend to refine the jacket more
I feel like you should either give the ear a realistic shape or make it completely smooth.
Nice work! Looks a lot like Arnold.
eheh, don’t know why people keep focusing on his ears. eheh
Will do a layer in Zbrush so I can get details and if I don’t want to keep them, delete it
Thanks for the critic
Looking reay sweet!!
Also love the progressive steps your posting: for a newbie like me it clearly shows the workflow and teaches me a lot! Thx for that :keenly:
Think Arnold would reminisce to the good old days when seeing this
Keep up the great work!
