Leaving out a bunch but that’s off the top of my head…along with many already mentioned!

Maybe it’d be a good idea to put the book titles of collected work for the Illustrators too? Might help for research. Let me know and I’ll update.

Chris Ware, Dan Clowes, Seth, Juanjo Guarnido (Blacksad), Leinil Yu (Superman: Birthright), Michael Ryan (Mystique - no inks), Jan Duursema (Star Wars), Kagan McLeod (Infinite Kungfu), Joe Madureira (Battle Chasers, Street Fighter covers), Ma Wing Shing (Storm Riders and other uber cool kung fu comics).

but first without failing to mention Katsuhiro Otomo for volumes of Akira.

Will Eisner,
Jeffrey Jones,

Jamie Hewlett
Los Bros Hernandez (Love and Rockets)
Dave McKean (illustrations and covers for Sandman)
Ralph Steadman
Frank Miller
Alex Ross
John Romita (Sr & Jr)
Chris Ware (gotta root for a hometown guy)

There are so many to choose from hehehe, but were we go with some of those that are MUST have for me:

  • Alfonso Azpiri (got known in USA for the amazing work on the long defunct Penthouse Comix, publishs regularly on Heavy Metal magazine) :buttrock:

    • Rick Leonardi (SpiderMan 2099 - almost no one recognises this guy as a BRILIANT artist  )

    • Jean “Moebius” Giraud (The Incal although i prefer he´s Bluberry books/style)

Im forgeting a lot of others, but this are the ones that when i see something new i just need to HAVE IT :applause:

winsor McCay
emile cohl

Kevin ONeill - (Nemesis the Warlock, Marshall Law)
Carlos Ezquerra - (Judge Dredd, ABC warriors)
Jim Woodring - (Frank, Jim)

These are my three that havent been already mentioned.

Travis Charest, Whilce Portacio, Geof Darrow, John Bryne, Alex Ross and Me. Well I used to do comic characters in high school I thought were damn good:shrug:

He also gets the award for the laziest comic book artist

Nope…that one goes to Dale Keown (The Pitt)

How about Bill Waterson

and Gary Larson

yeah, what is that guy up to these days?

It’s like he disappeared. Last I saw he was doing covers for video games and gamer mags.

Haven’t looked at the newer artists recently since my comics addiction isn’t as intense as before so i can’t really comment on them. Aside from the often repeatedly lauded greats (Adams, Byrne, Ross etc.), here’s another vote for the cool styles of Mike Mignola and Travis Charest!
Also a couple not yet mentioned: Jae Lee, Texeira.

Watterson and Larson for sure, but how come no one mentioned:

Goscinny & Uderzo:

I was reared on these guys! How about the rest of you? Black gold, anyone? Or a menhir?

I am surprised to see actual talented artists being listed here.

Here I was expecting to come in here and see fanboy ravings for talentless hacks like Rob Liefeld.
