Nickelodeon Animation Studio in Burbank is staffing up for it’s new CG show “Tak and the Power of Juju”. We’re hiring animators, generalists, texture mappers, and technical directors for the CG department. We’re looking for great talent to work on a challenging and exciting show in a fun environment.
The Nickelodeon Animation Studio is looking for a Technical Director/Technical Programmer for our CGI project “Tak”.
Summary of Job:
Technical Director/Technical Programmer work for new 3D CG TV show.
We require applicants with a strong knowledge of Mel scripting and programming in a production environment, and those who have created pipeline and workflow enhancement tools for previous film or television projects. The position is Maya 7.0 based.
Responsibilities:

Create tools and scripts and custom animation/UI tools to streamline production.

Conduct research, design, implement, test, optimize and document a production pipeline.

Develop effects-related tools and techniques (cloth/hair/fur).

Create secondary animation solutions for characters.

Work with in a team environment.

Support Multiple Productions.

Offer Mel scripts and tools to streamline production and assist animators.

Knowledge of character rigging and interfaces.
Requirements:

In-Depth knowledge of Mel and C++.

Strong knowledge of Perl a plus.

Interface with animators and technical directors as a first line of involvement to solve production issues.

Able to create custom animation/UI tools.

Experience creating and managing render pipelines.

Experience with character rigging and secondary dynamics.

Must be able to work in a TV production schedule.

Must have strong Written and Communication skills.

Minimum 2-4 years experience in a film or television production environment.
Must be proficient in Maya Animation Software. MUST SUBMIT A REEL.
