I decided to get crazy and update the server way before match start. So it’s up-to-date as of now.
I’m sure Valve will feel the need to release another update before then. :smiley:

Bow is up, took me 4 hours just to get the shaders to a point where I didn’t absolutely hate them, which was longer than I thought it would take. TF2 does not like light colored shaders, it’s easy to have them blow out.
Luckily they pushed the due date till friday afternoon but i’m still not sure I’ll have another item done by then.

I’ve been busy over the last month job hunting, unsuccessfully, and working over at my friend’s new restaurant to be able to play TF2… is the server still alive? There was one night when Neverman invited me to start a game, a couple Saturdays ago maybe? and I don’t think I saw the game actually get started.

Negative. There has been a dramatic decline in server use since Skyrim. I’m debating if we shouldn’t shut it off and give Topher the remainder of his money back. I haven’t been on in a number of weeks either (due to many other things going on IRL), but I’ve been checking the Gameservers’ page to see if anyone used it Wed, Fri or Sat. The stats say, “nope.avi” :sad:

There has been a significant decline in CGS TF2 playtime these days, Skyrim / Real Life / etc have taken priority for most of us.

The Gameservers account should be good until ~February / March iirc so it seems like the best idea to keep things going as-is and revisit once the well runs dry. Tempted to setup a small game server somewhere here in the Bay Area at a colocation center. The connection / ping might be worse for some people but at least it should be free that way

I wonder if changing the server to a new game might revitalize the community at all. Doubtful, but what about other Source games like day of defeat or such?

It’ll be a shame if the server dies before I finish Seabass, but that stupid game, IRL, has gotten in the way of my important activities!

Yeah, Kirt was Johnny-on-the-spot and got the problem resolved quick. We had some 5 on 5 action before the night was out so not too bad. I’m to the point were I’m not playing Skyrim every free moment so I’ll be back for normal matches again.

Except I’ve got a Christmas party this Friday so make it Saturday. :smiley:

I’ve been absent because there was everyone playing Skyrim, then Desert Bus, and now I’ve got finals next week so I had a bunch of homework to do last week. But this weekend I should be up for games. :slight_smile:

These days I’ve been busy until late every day of the week except Sundays. Depending upon how things go, I may be busy on Sundays as well.

I’m probably going to start taking Wednesday nights to myself going forward. I seriously need at least one night where I don’t do anything with anybody and I can just sit there and play TF2 or Skyrim or watch crap on Netflix or something.
