   Ever since Halloween I've been thinking about this, and how I didn't want to be one of those people who makes a ton of obvious Holiday items, like Santa hats and such. So I told myself I would not take part in holiday doings, but...
   I did however just come up with one or two slightly non traditional items I thought would be fun to make, even though I have no delusions about them getting chosen. Most of which get back to the Germanic origins of the holiday :)
  
  PS. Also if I can find time to pull myself away from Skyrim.

PPS. I also need to stop starting projects at 6am.

Out of all of the Dr. Who inspired items I could think of to make… that would definitely not be one of them.

So I’m hoping to have these done tonight, although I’ll be out most of the day:( and I was curious to get some opinions on textures.

I have a bottle of Glögg, I wonder if the stripe on the bow is too distracting for a meele weapon. It also looks really bad in blue, so I’m hoping this version can be used for both teams, sort of like how the pyro’s red axe doesn’t have a blue version.

Also this bow I’ve been calling Baldr’s Bane. The original idea was based on the Norse myth of Baldr who was killed by a spear/arrow made out of mistletoe. Although holly looks a bit more Christmasy it sort of looses the whole Norse thing. The white is also a bit more team neutral.

The model for the bow is also mostly done but it’s untextured so I’m posting this concept I had laying around.

Anyway if you have comments you can post here ASAP or message me on steam since I will be trying to finish these tonight.

I would expect people to think the bottle would be compatible with paint and therefore could be any color. It looks fine with or without the stripe.

I was unfamiliar with the word Glögg and the story of Baldr before you started making these so it’s hard to say if changing it to holly will effect it. Your original design had holly so I’m thinking that was the look you really wanted. Perhaps there is an old legend of someone being shot through the head with a holly bush? :smiley:

Either way I like the design. Looks like a weapon from Dr. Seuss.
