I’ll find out from the guys at work what the best day would be. From the mumbles and grumbles I’ve heard so far, Saturday sounds best at the moment. However, I’ll ask around at work tomorrow and determine the best day and time. I know our head HR guy wants to organize some sort of pub crawl through Kalamazoo on Friday or Saturday, so that’d probably be the time to meet up.

I wanted to ask has anyone else been finding it difficult to connect to servers today? I tried refreshing my server list but it didn’t come up with anything. Someone mentioned that since TF2 is free to play now, the servers could just be maxed out with people. Anyway hope this clears up soon and I can get back into the game!
Also a paintover of another hat I’m working on. I know the eggs are a little over sized for doves, but I wanted to make sure they were visible.
Cool, I never played this game (who has time…), but now that it’s free I’ll probably give it a shot. Crap, last time I opened Steam it was for counter strike. Those were the days.
Hey guys, still getting loadsa high ping, ranging from 200-300…can’t figure out why 
Has anyone had this problem or can offer advice? I figure its just because I’m on wireless, at the moment it fluctuates between 2-3 bars

Are the servers you’re connecting to based in the US? Usually you’ll have a higher ping if you’re trying to play a game across the Atlantic.
Yeah, I’d check what kind of servers you’re joining first. There are some things you can do to optimize your connection to servers as well within TF2, but at best I’ve seen a 3ms difference between optimized and unoptimized. If you can find a wired connection to test on that might help too.
The only players on the CG Server who suffer from chronic bad ping are either those from overseas or the ones who have to share a poor connection with a household full of bandwidth abusers.
I still have a little tweaking to do, but here is the nest hat so far. I had to make the branches a bit chunkier than I originally planned so that when the hat is seen from a distance it doesn’t become noise. Surprisingly I’m only at 612 tris.

Brain, it looked a lot more than that at first glance. Got a wireframe perchance?
I think it may need a few larger fully modeled sticks that aren’t alphas in there Brain. Otherwise it looks good. The eggs seem a bit too low poly too, could probably spare another hundred tris to get them smoother around the top.
I disagree about the eggs. Think about how far away you generally are from somebody’s head, especially on the enemy team, while they’re in motion. You’re not going to notice the difference, but I suppose you could do an LOD for super up close.
Good point, it’s probably not too necessary.
Plus all those folks that complain about lack of LODs and tricount in TF2 would whine forever about how the extra 300 tris are killing their gaming experience.
I totally see a leaf in that nest, Brain. It’s just the way the texture is set up. Have you fiddled with the horns since this last iteration?
In other news. My PSU is bad! Again! Hooray! Luckily, this time I have a Corsair with a 3-year warranty and it’s plugged in to a surge protector so I’ve sent my request for an RMA and I should allow 5 business days for processing. Yay! If I have to pay for this, so long gaming computer!
