After screaming bloody murder at my Xbox, I have decided to sell my orange box on the 360, and am currently downloading it for the PC on steam; Those that say they prefer 1st person shooters on a console with a gamepad is just LYING to be cool.
Team Fortress 2 - CGSociety Players
The beauty of TF2 (well, one of the myriad of them) is that it’s a PC shooter ported to console and not vice versa. So we’ll be seeing you Friday night then?
Ya… I didn’t seem to be super ‘1st person gamepad angry’ at Bioshock… (What a fantastic game btw). Friday night…? Maybe… I tend to do regretful things on Fridays/Saturdays, but we shall see.
Friday’s match is early enough to do before going out, especially if you’re on the west coast (6pm pst). You’ll have more then enough time to get in trouble afterwards (ask me on Alltalk tomorrow how I am now the expert on this!)
Funny you mention Bioshock in this light. It was without a doubt, a console shooter ported to PC. Shocked as I was, it was the first (and only thus far) PC shooter I wound up playing with my xbox controller because it felt more natural.
Because very little has actually been pointed out, the fixes I’ve made are more performance related. But yes, I will compress, upload and distribute what I have compiled, assuming this compile was error free.
Ok… just got it… HAMMERED through portal with insane speed. Seriously, the 360 cannot even come close to the control on the PC. I was a friggin portal ninja. And hey, it turns our that Team Fortress is actually FUN once you can aim with some precision.
Dudes… It is on: Cue’s up “I’ve got the power”
It’s not just fun; it’s awesome. TF2 OWNS YOUR FACE!
Ahem.
Anyway, the next version of HappyValley should be online some time in the middle of tomorrow. No guarantees on it being ready for the game tomorrow, but it should be out by the time Saturday rolls around. I really haven’t done much that will affect gameplay, though, I’m just making it a little easier on the eyes since the lighting, texturing, just about everything was ass-ugly.
Speaking of which, I need a new name for the map. I lot of people on public servers seem to equate “ugly” with “plays bad”, so I want to break the ‘HappyValley=no fun’ association. I need it to be short, sweet and to the point. Any suggestions?
? Well i like that but i would have to play again to give you a fresh good name. :buttrock:
I haven’t played the map, but ‘uncanny valley’ is just one word away, and its very 3d applicable, no?
a classic! lol
Stay off my back or I’ll attack and you don’t want that!
I’ll try to make it into tonight’s match… I need to warn you all, I’ve become a mean Sniper.
I’m not going to be able to make it tonight, got a concert to go to… so either Swizzle or Kromano will be your admins for tonights match. ![]()
Match info is now UP:

Badlands is great, except for that fact that I have yet to see a team actually win on it.
Badlands - I like it. I played it a bit this morning and had fun with just about every class I switched to. There are many ways to flank the enemy. Plus it’s just a fantastic looking map. Some dislike the quick cap on the last CP, but I’d rather it just get over with if the teams have made it that far. The battles concentrate around CP 2/4 and the middle which, is the way it should be (IMO). 100% better than playing Wellnary (or it’s CTF mutated sibling). ![]()
I think Saturday night is going to be a blast. I wish I could be there tonight as well.
Groovy, welcome to the real world.
I like using myself as a football in portal and seeing how far I can punt myself through a few of them.
Hmm, so HV has gotten a bad rap because of its looks, thats no good.
Lets see, its in a canyon, walled in, total blitz in the middle, I’m thinking something like The Gauntlet or Meat Grinder but with a reference to the canyon. Box Canyon, Boxxed Canyon.
Oooh ooh ‘Paradise Hurts’, no idea where that came from.
