Team Fortress 2 - CGSociety Players

#624

It’s a new version of the same one. The original’s still there.

#625

Tonight match info is now up on the EVENTS PAGE

I wont be on tonight, but have a good time anyways everyone.

#626

Good game tonight, guys. Is there a way we can add the custom maps to the vote list though? We didn’t get to play either one because they never came up.

#627

They should show in a rockthevote. No?

I need to add a couple more Admins I think so we’ll have it covered Friday if RockinAkin can’t be there.

#628

It’s been a while but I had a chance to get back into it and play tonight - Great game as always.

Is there a link to the the custom levels being used?

#629

See bold, red and obnoxious text above.

#630

Hmmm, I didn’t try rockthevote. I was using ‘votemap’ and they weren’t listed as options.

#631

I tried rockthevote. Sometimes they show, sometimes they don’t.

And, if you’re looking for more admins or something, I wouldn’t mind helping.

#632

So what time is the match tonight? ( JK Kirt hehe  )

I like what they did with the Well map, but sheesh it takes forever to win at it. You might as well call it a stalemate map. Both teams seem to meet in the middle building and just go back and forth endlessly. If you don’t have any spies to nab the intelligence, forget it.

BTW, I was getting ready to hook up on Friday, but as soon as I started Steam, the game began to update so I was not able to join ( different version ). I’ll try to get together with you guys tonight after I get done doing some test renders in Lightwave of my latest project.

#633

I was hoping to give the new well a shot last night, too but it never came up. I wonder if people would get trapped in the middle because they stopped to fight too much, in many cases I’ve found it pretty easy to avoid people if I really wanted to.

Kirt, if you could look at all the vote options and find out where they get the maplist from for voting? Many people seemed disappointed we couldn’t switch to the customs.

I hope I can make it tonight, but I formatted last night and don’t have a physical copy of Orange Box so I’ve got 8gb to download off steam for TF2 alone. With any luck this should help compiling a little better, otherwise I guess the problem is my hardware is dying out.

So I’ll see you guys tonight, perhaps… I guess I could join on my laptop if I don’t mind 14 minute load times.

Oh and as a probably unnecessary P.S: Anytime I accuse anybody of cheating on the CGTalk server I totally don’t mean it, I’m just jealous that you keep killing me.

#634

Swizzle and [AF] Meelo (aka kromano) have been added as server Admins.

I’m looking for the options that allow map changes if an Admin is not present.
This will be fixed … soon (not like Valve “soon”, but sooner).

#635

Sweet! Thanks, Kirt.

I ought to be able to help out most nights for the next few weeks since I don’t really have many responsibilities right now.

#636

Oh yes you do! A little responsibility called HappyValley?

Gah, I should’ve left this on overnight, I’m sitting at 53% of TF2 downloaded and only 2 hours and 20 minutes until game time. I highly doubt I’ll make tonight’s match, what a shame.

I guess I could try to load up my laptop, however I don’t think it’ll survive for long online.
(for those wondering, I’m not copying any of the GCFs from other locations I have Steam installed on my network because I’ve been having far too many problems with Steam related software and I’m trying to pinpoint whether it’s my hardware or the software, or both. So I need a clean copy straight from Steam to do this. Sigh. Sometimes I put too much effort into silly things.)

#637

Pthbtptttbtblll!! :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, yeah. I’m trying to work out some problems I’ve been having constructing things with displacements. I need to figure out how the folks at Valve constructed doorways and stuff in displacements without adding tons of polygons on one side and few on the other. Once I figure out some of these problems, things should shape up well.

Meanwhile, the current version is on the server and I’ve fixed a few of the problems in the bases, especially in the intel rooms. Things still aren’t very pretty and the lighting’s still fairly freakish and overblown, but it should be easier to attack/defend than the last few.

#638

Interesting match

#639

Yeah, no kidding. Did you see when Kirt and I were teleporting each other?

Also, it’s apparently possible to get into the 3D skybox and see fellow players as gigantic if you can noclip over there:

#640

Isn’t that the Cloverfield monster?

All good fun, but we don’t abuse our Admin powers when the game is on … right? :deal:

Oh BTW … GAME ON in 30 minutes! See you there! I’m joining the server now.

#641

I fear the banhammer far to much to mess with people like that.

Great game tonight; at one point, the server was full!

#642

Yeah good games last night, nice to see the server full. Must have snowed everywhere else last night too so people stayed in

#643

had an awesome time - great server, great people…
