OKIDOKI…here’s a little preview and the first test render of the first test object we’ve made… rendered in messiah:Studio2.4c
Mv - Head
Gp - Body
Ta - Legs

Bloody nice work guys… That torso is freaking amazing.

What’s more amazing is you’ve actually started!

#63

Alright I guess this is worth the wait…but really, NICE job on the test render and this guy looks pretty kickass conceptualy. keep it up

#64

Interesting, I like

#65

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! :applause: :applause: :applause:

#66

whoa…this is going to be kickass!

taron–That looks just like some concepts I drew a couple of months ago!!!
holy crap…yours is better than mine though…there’s nothing cooler than hand people…

#67

HEY Bayard! Thanx, but the hand section is Greg’s work and it’s very beautiful! Funny enough, I did something like that about 10 years ago…it’s nearly identically, which is actually the funny part…except my hands were a little more cromped up and not so beautifully relaxed…more terror, you know…hahaha!

Anyway, Greg, do you get this! It’s a big-up from everyone!

We all are already anxious to see the remaining two characters…I think it gets a whole lot wackier!!!

AND it really, REALLY reminds me of the drawings Chris Reid and I were doing (over 100 or even 130 of them, not sure anymore).

#68

Taron: Those drawings are rad…They would make the ultimate tabletop book!
Gpetch did those hands eh? should have guessed it. Are you guys doing this in the same style as you and chris did those drawings? like one person does the head…the other does the torso…and another does the legs? that would be sweet.

 -bayard

**edit...just read your above post...guess that's exactly what you're doing!!
niiice....

Yup! I’ve made a super lowres mesh (782 polygons) which everyone of us gets. Then everyone starts with a head, creates a displacement map, exports the level 1 geometry out of Zbrush and only hands the geometry over to the next one.
The next round is making the torso to the model of the other one’s head, not knowing the actual details of the head, but seeing the general proportions. At the end of this the level 1 geometry is prepared so that the head is morph-brushed to exactly the shape it had when the model came from the previous artist, so that his displacement map will still fit.
Then comes the last round, which would be the legs, same procedure as above…

At the end every artist has a mesh and three displacement maps! I use messiah to put it together and render it, which is a total piece of cake and a real surprise, when the render comes out…totally cool, hahaha…I had to laugh and was stunned at the same time…

We should make this a total standard game here! I’d almost vote for a whole thing like the daily sketches for it! Big time fun! :bounce:

#70

taron–That would be awesome!

#71

I totally love how this turned out, I just wish I had more spare time! I still haven’t zbrushed the legs for the third model… did Mathias ever do the torso to pass on to me?
130 drawings? I don’t think I’ve seen all of those, where do I find them Taron?

#72

Hahaha so cool  Greg rocked on that torso

Greg, sorry I’m being slow. I didn’t pass the torso yet to you, I’ve been working on it, I’ll try to finish it today. I don’t have that much spare time either.

#73

No worries, I know it is. Seems like Taron is the only one of us who can work REALLY quickly.
Just thinking, if we defined the three sections before we started then we could all model at the same time rather than waiting in turn, which could make for a faster process.
Oh, and it would be fun if we each painted texture maps too, maybe next round!

#74

well, I think it’s important to get the proportions / base of the of the previous part(s) of the model though.

#75

Yeah! Thats a kickass model for sure  Evil devil.

Oh, 130 drawings? I really would like to see those! ALOT :stuck_out_tongue:

Are the three models going to be in the same scene? I mean, a scene with some nice environment and stuff like that? That would be awesome.

Keep it up guys!

#76

Yes ! Awesome, totally weird and wicked creature you guys made here ! Can’t wait to see the two others… Keep it up !!

Incredible character! Looks really cool and unique. Stunning work.

EDIT:

HAHA. So that is how m@ works. Should have known. Only that way results can be 100% fantastic.

#78

Here’s the base model we used as a start :

#79

Hehehehe…man…I’m still treating this as a big test round…legs took like 20 minutes, 25 tops…

I’m still planning to refine the head and the torso I made…man…the torso’s gonna be fun, too…a bit creepy, but really fun I think!

Well, that was how I was envision it, though. Everyone does a part, pushes it to the next over and so forth…in no time we’d have three characters…totally crazy!

Well…I guess I’ll have to start scanning them sketches…Chris and I were going to do that anyway! :wip:
