thanks for replying…i bought maya complete from journey ed so i dont have the cloth functionality, but when i saw the syflex site i thought wow, thats pretty nice.
on the syflex site they talk about a 400 dollar version which is syflex le…here is what it states…
Syflex LE (Learning Edition)
SyflexLE is a simplified version of Syflex for learning and teatching purposes (non commercial only).
More affordable, it allows artists to learn cloth simulation.
SyflexLE is as fast as the commercial version. It has less parameters, and some non-essential features has been removed (SDK, self-collisions, cache, force planes, sew and magnet forces, optimizations options).
the features that are removed is what worries me, i did email someone from syflex and he says that those missing features dont stop you from making clothes for characters, but i was hoping someone on the site had the LE version and would be able to tell me what you cant really do…
for someone who dosen’t know the program this without much eplanation dosen’t help me much.(SDK, self-collisions, cache, force planes, sew and magnet forces, optimizations)
options)
i was hoping i could find a pdf that would give a more indepth look at what i wouldnt be getting.
i would really like to get this instead because i would be able to afford it at 400 bucks where i could learn how to use the program thoroughly and then when i have more money i would be able to upgrade to the commerical version.
just wanted feedback from someone who might have the LE version thats all, however i will see if i can get more info from the contact section of the site.
