Surpass replacement anyone?

I never talk with Newtek directly. Did you have good relation with them? I hope they are very pleasant with tool and pluging developers… They should if they don’t! I can understand, somethimes thing need to stay secret… But…

For my side, during the last month, people from Autodesk call me 2 times at my office to have more information about my feature request for 3DSMax. They ask for scenes and script to help them… I find them very dynamic.

I’m not “in the secrets of the gods” but I know a lot about, 3DSMax futur development now. A lot of my request will be solve in the next version.

Well, since I’ve been using LW for 15 years now, and have been active on-line, obviously I did get to know some of the relevant people.

Then again, as a developer, I don’t like to give out too much either (I’ve already said too much  ).

Cheers,
Mike

That might be a way to solve it, though I would like both  Looking forward to your update, Mike.

I wish… I need to get the next infiniMap Pro release out of the door first…

Cheers,
Mike - who wishes he had more time…

#29

mn…I hope you do not give up. We need something…SIGH!

Newtek is behind on features and they need a boost.

#30

denis 's buffer is the way to do that for da moment. A bit tedious but really rocks.

#31

…and that is???
Please, do you have any link for that?

Thanks

Consider also one of the most useful features of ExrTrader is that it can store multiple buffers in a single openEXR file. So maybe, to speed things up, could Mike take advantage from DPont’s ExtraBuffer node to send those extra buffers as additional channels in ExrTrader saver?

Btw, this link might be interesting about the potential of this kind of approach.

I could… however, I’ve had my own implementation of something quite similar planned for some time. And, surprisingly, the biggest challenge will be reworking the actual exrTrader GUI

So, this is planned and coming one way or another, before the end of the year as well.

Cheers,
Mike

That’s good news!

#36

Will it work with fprime?

#37

Good question. I’m not sure yet if that is possible… at least for an animation. I’ll have to wait and see how it goes. It might just be with a helper plugin.

It is certainly something I’d like to see though. Hey, I’m just as curious and eager to get it to work as any of you

Cheers,
Mike

#38

well, if there’s still interest in this…
http://www.lwidof.net/passEditor/passEditorShow_01.mov (12 mb)

Might sell this soon if there’s demand.

#39

Wow, thats pretty awesome! Where can I input my credit card.

Is there any way to change light exclusions and render globals on a per pass basis? Can a third party network render controller be used?

Thanks, looks exciting!

This is looking very good. I just wonder why do you need to go back and reselect pass every time. In things like this get it doen to as few moves as possible per pass is the way to go. When you have 10-15 scenes to set up passes, doing as less you can for each pass is more than appreciated.
I’d like to see it published, you’ll have more than 1 licence from me
