Surface changes

#1

Hey All,

Could someone answer a dumb question? I’m just learning MS, having used mostly LW.
How do I set up keyframes to change an object’s surface attributes? In LW all I did was click “E” and set it up.
I’ve played around a bit in MS but my attempts to envelop an object’s color don’t seem to “stick”

Thanks for some advice

In LW, activating “E” elicits the Graph Editor. messiah also follows the same. For example, middle click on the round button to the left of the paramter field. This will change the static channel to an active channel. The button will initially be gray, meaning no keyframe has been set yet. If you like the value in the field, just hit “Enter” and the keyframe is set. The round button will now be colored to show you there is a keyframe. Make sure your graph editor is visible … you can play with the spline and the values (colors, luminosity, etc…) will change concurrently. Also, make sure you review the docs … it goes into much more nitty gritty detail. Go to “Start Here > Learn It Once … Keyframing”. I hope this atleast helps point you in the right direction.
