Hi folks, I am searching for some books, articles or knowledge base on Aesthetics of art and it’s philosophy. Can anybody help me on these? Thanks in advance.
There are lots of books on the subject–just a quick search at amazon.com will get you many hits.
In terms of more pragmatic and commercial applications of aesthetics (such as for entertainment like video games, animation, movies, comic books, illustration), it’s hard to find resources for those, since it’s an advanced topic that people don’t really get deep into. As far as I know, I’m the only one who’s teaching it at an advanced level (along with stylization choices) in my workshop (week six is dedicated to the subject). You can find out more about my workshop linked below in my signature.
Oo, can’t think of one specifically about that. Most of what I learned about aesthetics I learned from studying design (I’m a graphic designer). I would recommend looking into books on the fundamentals of design, because good design (whether it’s architecture, graphics, print, fashion, etc.) can always be applied back to art.
Not sure if this is what you want, but I am a graphic designer, by graduation as well and I really liked studying the art movements, europe had a lot of great, striking art movements. Art Noveau, Russian constructivism, Futurism, Neoplasticism… look up historical vanguard art movements.
