Struggling in learning to write Procedural Textures


Good day CGSociety members.

I am currently learning to write shaders/procedural textures, and am going for more of a stylized game look and feel though. I want to focus on Maya, as that is what the pipleline at my college uses. Yet I’d like something that can be used with Substance Painter as well. I am torn between using GLSL or HLSL. In the end, I’m only using the shader language to to create shaders in maya, that will be rendered out.
