When I create a walk cycle on one of the character’s from the HASH2003 CD (HASH2001 rig) I get this strange swaying from front to back in the torso. I’ve tried several times, and I’m absolutely sure I’m not keframing this motion into my action- I think it is coming from the rig, but I’m not sure where- does anyone have any ideas?

Those models probably have ‘balance’ and ‘balance rigid’ enabled to some degree by default. Turn those off and see if it helps.

while humorous, that’s not exactly correct- the Balance and Balance Rigid poses were originally designed by either Anzovin or Eggington (can’t remember which) and serve the purpose of keeping the pelvis centered over the feet- very cool for making poses, get in the way of cycling actions or poses/actions where you want the feet even with or above the pelvis- that’s why they can be turned off…
