I modeled those robots some time ago and the other day, watching my nephew playing with his little dog I tought that maybe I could transport that feeling to these innanimated robotic creatures.
I think we all imagine robots making hard works, calculations, difficult operations,so I guess that 2 robots playing is a strange behaviour for a machine, isnt it ?
Modeled in 3ds max 8,rendered with mental ray and finished in photoshop cs2.
The name of the image is a mix between two words: amigos ( friends in spanish) and robots.

I hope you can understand the idea, I know my english is terrible

Hi,

When i watch your work, i think that the dog is angry and the robot is afraid. Not they are playing…
Also, the background is empty. It need more textures, more forms, more colors…

Your work is end ? Too bad because i’m sure you can improve it.

I have to agree with Prout62 that the relationship between the 2 robots is not obvious. If the dog-bot got a gentle pat on the head or back from the other robot, that could make their friendship come out better.

And don’t worry about your English, it’s not that terrible ;). I understand your idea perfectly, but what I don’t understand is why you never posted any work in progress? If you had, people could have given you some helpful feedback, allowing you to improve your ideas.

There’s still time to add some things (like colour, for example :wink: ), but if you say this is finished, then I wish you the best of luck :).

I like the concept and the style of the picture.

Maybe have the man standing ready to throw the ball and the dog crouching ready to run, this will show more of a playful relationship between them. At the moment the man looks bored and dog looks angry.

You have done some nice modelling here, so I’m sure with a change of composition this picture will add the emotion it needs.

Keep going, it’s looking good so far
