Haha, I was thinking about him yelling sorry but wasn’t really sure how I would emphasize that, so I think I am going to go with “YO!” or “WELCOME!” instead.

I am probably going to add like a rug or a mat in front of him saying “welcome to canada” or something.

Also there will probably be swat coming down from the skies and crap as well… full full full.

Good luck to ya Mike.

Its bound to be a good competition eh?

Most definitely man! I can’t wait to see what everyone else is making

#12

Last for the day before I head to bed, am trying to add as much as I can think of. I know it doesn’t look like much right now, but I think you will really see it come together once I start modeling.

Cheers!

Any suggestions and crits would be HIGHLY appreciated.

now thats interesting:scream:dang ,where’d u guys got all these ideas from?

looking forward mate

#14

What no Beer?

i love your idea so far… Only problem is that there are too many characters on screen… too much detail… maybe you should make less of them and start focusing on the suroundings…

great nontheless…

good luck

A small yet big (for me) update on the concept, trying to finalize everything, add in all the little details I can think of to make the modeling go as smooth as possible. Trying to work out the characters style and what not.

I think this would definitely work cartoony like this so that is how I am going to approach it in 3D.

I know a lot of the anatomy is WAY off but for the life of me I can’t get it right, if anyone feels like doing a paint over to show me how I wouldn’t be against that haha.

Anyhow, crits comments are most definitely wanted and needed, thanks!!

#17

hmm double post, my bad!

#18

See, I agree in part with that. But my mind keeps coming back to the hilarity of what it would be like if the world invaded Canada. What strange things would us Canadians do. We would welcome you of course!

I think it MAY work out though because of the borderline, where the Canadian is will be all white (snow) and he will be colorful and such, and on the other side of the border will be dark and intense, everyone will sort of mish mash together but still be distinct.

That is what I am thinking anyways… We shall see I suppose.

#19

what the crap… another double post… grr!

#20

Fun concept…but, shouldn’t there be a moose and a mountie in this sketch somewhere?

Hi, Mike,

Your concept is great and very funny!!!

Good luck to you too!

Cheers,
Carlos

Another update on the original concept. Pretty happy with how it is turning out, trying to fill up the blank spaces as much as possible. I don’t think there is too much clutter yet, we shall see though.

Trying to get every country I can think of. I know a lot of the style is very mixed and matched but I am not good at maintaining that sort of thing. But I do believe this is a good representation of what is to come.

Crits and comments most definitely welcome and wanted. Thanks for all the support!

Do not worry those will show up in some form!

#24

hehe i love “canadian touch” you put into it. it made me laugh. good stuff!

#25

Well another little update. I have added a few more things, I think by monday I will be finished with the actual final concept and will be able to start the modeling, so that is exciting!

As you can see I have added a fence, but in each division of the fence there is an archway, because we Canadians are after all, welcoming and accepting, we love everyone! lol

There are a bunch of little things I will add in 3d but mostly this is what the scene will look like, more background people though, a few more jets, snipers, etc etc.

So far in the picture I have incorporated Chinese, Japanese, American, German (well nazis at least) Mexicans (they are jumping the fence lol) I am however trying to find somewhere to include the British and the Russians, any ideas? I will probably add a south african in there somewhere, maybe they will be the ones digging from the ground (with spears instead of shovels haha)

Anyhow, crits and comments always wanted and welcome!

#26

We are nothing if not proud! I plan to add a whole lot of Canadian “touches” to it. I am really proud to be Canadian and it is a chance to play fun at some of the more over the top assumptions about us.

#27

Well I know I said I would have the modeling started by Monday but that got pushed back and unfortunately I haven’t had time to work on this however I am proceeding as normal now.

This is about an hours work, I hate coloring because I am horrible at it, but I suppose this is what the challenge is about, getting good at what your not.

Pretty much none of these colors are final and the mood is not even there yet but this is just to give an idea of what is going to be happening you know?

Any crits and comments are always welcome and wanted!
