hihihihi

the lemming looks realy stressed, as one thinks and agent in such a firm woould be :D. maybe you should give them little ties or white shirts.

i realy like the cats though  if you realy change them into these ultra fluffy ones you showed

anyway have fun exploring and i should do myy sketches too…

Hi Linda! Just checking what you’re working on. You’re not doing weird fishes ? I’m so disappointed ! Actually, the cats are pretty weird fishes I guess.

The lemming sketch made me laugh the most though. But I guess it’s good to still explore your possibilities as long as you have ideas.

Good luck with the challenge!

Llynna - ha ha yeah think I will do a poofed out cat underwater sketch today and see how I like it …and errrrr hoping nobody noticed I spelled casualty wrong *hides

RicoD - Thanks for stopping by and for the feedback  lol no weird fishies for this one, I am in a furry mood lately I think.

Wow! Cool updates  I love the color work. With the cats, the flipper on the foot of the foreground cat is not all that easy to make out, but that’s a very trivial crit because I know this is so early in the piece. The lemming pic really grabbed my attention - especially those mournful eyes (which are quite hypnotic!). I love his little suitcase too - a wonderful old-world addition to the scene. Excellent stuff!

awwwwwww cuteness ^^ such great work on his fur, and such a cute thing he is ^^

#57

Very nifty update! And I think I agree with Lynna. It would be awesome if you could throw him a tie or maybe some thin rimmed glasses (maybe falling off of his face).

I love it so far, I’ve still got my eye out on this thread.

mdavid - Thanks bunches for the nice comments  I had a bit of fun with Lester and have had some more ideas floating around that I will sketch out soon, I hope anyway

Sacha - awwwwww you always say such nice things , thank you

Coyox - ha ha , I am thinking maybe a gold earring and a gold tooth . Thanks for the visit and the compliments

nwiz - ahhh ha ha ha you are always so fun and bouncy and full of nice things to say. I havent’ made up my mind yet which concept I am going to go with, still working on a cat sketch… or attempting to if it doesn’t flow well I will more than likely go with lemmings. :bounce:

Oh no! Why he doesnt stop looking at me!

Cool work on the fur and leather Linda but nothing new to hear for you, color and expression is nice but just a litle sugestion, add more glossynes to his eyes to make it most expressive.

Congratulations Linda, you are improving very much, keep it up.

PS: Im not supose to say this in public but… is really cute

#61

Loved the idea of marine cats, soooo cute! I´ll wait for ups!!!

#62

Lester’s looking nice, Linda. I agree with Reinaldo, though: His eyes could be a bit more expressive. They’re working better in your three mini-sketches because the hilights are sharper there. You might try exploring darker eyes with sharper specular hilights on them. The rest, though, especially the fur, is looking great!

#63

Rei - I made him just to stare at you mua ha ha ha. Thank you for the suggestion on the eyes and I wont’ tell anyone you said “cute” in public

Jujuba - Thank you , still working on a more detailed cat sketch too ( I was lazy yesterday )

Mike - You always make awesome suggestions  Thank you for those and the compliments.

#64

Well, ReinaldoRomero deserves the credit - he’s the one who pointed it out first. I just reiterated and reworded. But glad it was helpful no matter who said it!

#65

Mike - I guess I meant that as a general statement. I go through a lot of threads and read the comments and you never fail to have excellent crits and suggestions. You are one of those that is generous with their time and in helping others. bleh enough nicey nice stuff from me ha ha or you might end up with a fresh batch of screaming teenage gurly fans.

#66

hey lynda, this thing you uploaded last is adorable! but i have to point the fact that there are some anatomical issues with it. so that might be something you might want to address later in the piece.

ill keep an out for your thread. best of luck.

#67

Thanks Slav , errrr ha ha ha like his head is so big he might roll like a ball instead of walk and his arm is growing out of the side of his head and I don’t want to talk about his ears… yeah weeee just to name a few . Maybe when I develop him further I will give him a big belly to match his oversized head, not sure yet where he will go as I work on him more. I just hope he doesn’t mutate too much on me

#68

I really think you should give that insurance guy some extra attention because I know it could be a real killer.

#69

i really like this idea of the lemmings… please stick with that. as walrus sugessted having a parade of lemmings walk by and one take an interest would make for a stunning painting…
easily one of the best ideas on here. jealous.

your chracter is nice at the mo… are you using references? If so i would do a few life drawings of lemmings and then go on to design a more cartoony character. Also if using reference look how the shadows and higlight fall on the lemmings fur, try not to fall into the trap of painting every strand of fur, try to create the illusion of fur rather than painting every singe straneg, and perhaps also be a bit more adventurous with brushes as it looks a bit airbrushy.

cant wait to see what you come up with. subscribed.

MoKhatib - Thanks for the visit to my thread  Lester is getting a bit lonely I have not had much time to work on him lately. Hopefully soon he will get a bit of attention.

W-I-L - Excellent suggestions and yes I am using references, I found that lemmings are kind of an odd looking critter. They look like miniature beaver hamsters combinations. The idea of doing a few life studies is great  Thanks a bunch .
