Hi everyone. Looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.
Here’s the premise of my entry: prey protests against predation.
First try is an ant ranting at a big toad, but I’d like to try others out too.
My feel is to keep it small though. Maybe a mouse picketing a cat.
Any other ideas?

Things I’d like to get in there:

  • other prey folk gawking cowardly
  • maybe an extreme depth effect like in the macro photos like these (off flicker):

I’d like to keep it “2Dish” though, even though I might be rendering out parts in 3D I’m thinking of painting over the results…

hoopla… posts all over the place…

Okay. Stop the presses…
Johnny Duddle is tackling the same premise and doing it so well that I’m thinking of changing course. Completely. Definitely check out his work: link
Will post once I think of something.

Just things that came to mind… the first is - err, weird.
“Self portrait as brat”

I’d do this in slightly stylized 3D. It’s like that face you m ake as a kid, two fingers from one hand pulling your lower eyelids down while one finger from the other hand pulls up your nose - (what!? you never did that!?) - only, no hands can be seen.
(Told you it was wierd.)

Here’s another:
two girls in the restroom. One’s trying out her new wings:

Feedback please.

Me too! Tell him he’s my parnter on this one…
I’m working off his photo of me:

Flattering, eh?

#8

haha the idea is very cool. I´ll be watching to your progress:thumbsup:

Hi David,

I thinks the idea its simple but clever like you want it be, its a nice touch the 3d BG, I think the relation ship with a Roast and a bug could be also funny. and maybe the baby chickens as vegetarian kids appealing to the bug eater dad or some thing!

Very nice sketches though. I will wait for more hope it’s soon

ahh here you are! i had to search a long time to find you! but now, fear…!! :scream:

the 1st idea beats the others by far… sad there are already 2 in this challenge. but they differ in approach, so maybe go for it? but i know by experience that it is kinda boring and unmotivated to do an idea that someone else does.

i don’t see the wing-girl as strange behaviour, more like “strange”. maybe she could use her wings for something else that is super strange behaviour.

the self portrait will be more “scary” i think… kidding! can be fun, especially put him in a situation where he thinks he is the coolest one in the school/world. (making me feel nostalgic…)

fellah!
ha! Now I can stop hiding. Ya found me anyway.

I’ve had loads to do the last few days and only got around to a new scribble today… well, more like a study. Still not sure if I’m going to go with this ‘brat’ idea but I find it really funny. An island of understatement… well, kinda funny. Let me know what you think.

#12

I like your first idea! The minature look will look sweet!

#13

hi

nice ! to find you here in the challenge…
i like to first idea at most…

cheers,

A speed paint session took the “strange behavior” theme and… well, I came up with this. Half an hour. I’m liking it, so I may go with this for the still and do an animation of the head idea. I’ve been reading up on Messerschmidt and really like the idea of mix-mashing discordant FACS muscle groups into impossible (or at least strange) expressions…

but I won’t open commit to that until I know how much time I’ll have these next months.
Pleas elet me know what you think.

#15

Hahaha! cute! … & she looks very enjoying!

#16

What makes for the strangest behavior of all? This came up in my head.
