And Axel, I’d love to take your suggestions on normal-mapping, but I don’t have ZBrush or any equivalent. I’ve never even had the chance to play with anything like that.
The kitten, incidentally, is designed based on one of my own cats. Her name’s Buckets.
Don’t worry, I haven’t changed my idea away from the Viking kittens I was just playing around with other ideas. In this version, the little scamps are trying to steal a motorcycle.
I think this’d be a fun idea too, but there are 112 days left in the challenge and I’d spend 110 of 'em building that motorcycle.
I honestly love the kitties with the motorcycle. Adorable . . .especially the one on the handle and the two by the gas.

. They could invade the village for the precious golden motorcycle or something like that…about the props they look nice fun to model! .,Mostly that ethnic dragon lamp…about normal mapping it is difficult with out any modeling special software
but then again theres some hope on the net

Not much to talk about here. I’m working on props for the Viking Kittens scene, but as most of them are very basic things (cups, bowls, oars, etc.), until I’ve at least textured those I can’t justify the number of electrons I’d need to inconvenience to upload 'em.
I will show these though; a barrel and a shield that’ll go on the side of the ship.
Now that is a funny concept! Ha! I like the progress in your second sketch, much more dynamic.
haha u should include the motorbike in it, then it could be viking cats on a motorbike. That makes it even stranger. haha

Taken a couple of days off to reacquaint myself with Metroid Prime… Back to work now! This is a textured shield for the Viking ship the kittens’ll be leaping out of.
Textures are all hand-painted/otherwise finagled in Photoshop.

I like the texture you give to your shield, maybe what I will suggest its that looks to new, and since its has to look more Viking add some corrosion to the materials or broken pieces here and there
other than that I havent got any luck in knowing what else to do with normal maps with out mud box or z-brush sorry I will keep asking:)
I should probably clarify at this point that this isn’t the first time I’ve trotted out the Viking Kittens. This entry is based on a little mini-comic I did back in my freshman year, when I was mulling over the possibility of a Sequential minor. The concept is just such a sheer joy to play with that, in this Strange Behavior challenge, I couldn’t resist bringing it in for Round II.
This is a part of the cover from that comic; I’m using it as the basis for what the dragonship is going to look like.

very well done!.
Well cant really suggest anything so far but keep up twigging those models, and have a good reference for textures, a good example of easy 3 textured could be, Disneys Atlantis they have some nice reference in that style that might be close to some of your models

Still working on the textures; this part of the process isn’t really my strong suit…
Anyway, y’all might have noticed that I missed about a week. I really am sorry about that, and even sorrier that I don’t have a heckuva lot to show for it. I’m not sorry at all in my reason though – I spent that time chasing down a freelance job, and I’m glad to say I got it! I’m so excited; I can’t wait to start work. Unfortunately, it’s going to keep me tied up all through mid-to-late September, working roughly 10 hours a day. It’ll remain to be seen whether I’ll have time or energy to work on this as well 
If I’ve got the tenacity, great, y’all will still see me. If not, I’ll see you once the job’s done!
