Entering another contest. This is called War Manatee. I think I will end up putting a saddle on the manatee rider. But here is the initial sketch.

Looking for background ideas.

Here is the knight guys head render. It is an early model. Still need to add some extra wrinkles and whatnot in zbrush.

Here is an initial manatee skin. I will def. redo the skin and probably maybe even the model all together. But this is basically the general concept. I will be adding a saddle which i am designing now.

I LOVE manatees! I think they’re the cutest things on the planet. Yours is very cute. Don’t make him too warrior-like. :slight_smile:

Here is some more modeling. Finished the boots. And the pants and kneepads. Still need to complete hands. Looking for background ideas and concepts. Perhaps a Manatee army?.. not very threatening.

Btw I’ll suggest to change boots! it looks like a si-fi boot now and didn’t match to whole character design, but it’s just a minor crit and I found it after a while viewing ur work! after all just my thought! so don’t mind! :wink:

Ekah… Well I have now switched up the manatee design. I hope you still like him. I don’t plan on adding too much armor or anything like that. More like a saddle maybe some spurs.

Mim-Armand- Thank you. It is pretty high poly right now as it is still in zbrush. I like your crit about the boots, I am going to add some clips and stuff to them to make them look more like sheets of welded metal. So I think with some materials on them I am hoping they look less like space boots, but I understand what you are saying. Thanks

You might want to round off the mouth (lip?) area slightly. It’s a little hard-eged at the moment. Although you may not need them for your concept, manatees also have fingers/nails - usually about 3 or 4. Your human character is on the coartoony side, so I’m assuming you don’t want to go too realitic either.

Here is an update to the manatee with some straps, and some leather saddle images. He is looking quite pathetic.
