Strange Behavior (Illustration) Entry: Anthony Bullock

#1

Anthony Bullock is entered in the “Strange Behavior Challenge” update: View Challenge Page

Latest Update: Concept Sketch or 3D pre-visualization: Frame 1 Concept 1

#2

Low quality pencil/paper sketch.

Idea behind the concept is a bar of soap breaking free from its tight containment inside the packaging and peering over the edge of a red hot bath…scared to go into it and be used for fear of eventually dissolving.

Far fetched but as I say I’m new to this so just giving it a go seeing what I can do and how I can improve.

Excuse the EXTREME LOW QUALITY sketch.

#3

This is the second more refined sketch. Still throwing ideas around about making it into a small 4 frame comic strip or not.

Should be a bit bolder than the previous

#4

The first concept for the leading comic title frame.

Frame 1 sees the packaged bar of soap on the bathroom counter or on top of the sink (not decided on the surface yet) completely still.

I just got my new tablet in the mail today so I’ll be posting some more…wholesome concepts very soon.

What do you mean by frame 1? Is this going to be animated?

Seconldy I’m wondering which part of the soap’s behavior is strange? Yes its odd that a bar of soap can walk and talk, but wouldn’t you expect him to be fearful of dissolving?

Thanks for the reply!

When I say frame 1 I mean the first frame of the comic strip, ideally meaning the first illustrated window. It won’t be animated.

The strange behaviour is that soap and water work in harmony. A bar of soap refusing to touch the water is strange behaviour in itself. I suppose it’s a shallow concept but as I said I’m brand new to this.

In fact I’m tossing around some other ideas at the moment and fiddling around on the tablet with some sketches, so fingers crossed I can come up with something a little more interesting.

Thanks again.

But I,ll disolve - LOL I like that sketch idea. Keep at it!

Hi Gord,

Thanks for the kind words and support. Much appreciated

I’m still not 100% sure on the whole comic strip idea, hmmm…any input?
