hello everyone,i was wondering what would be the best approach,when trying to select the stones in a stone wall texture when it has a very similar color to the grout in between the stones

Are you using Photoshop? Probably a ton of ways to try what you want to do, but without seeing your texture and knowing what program you are using it’s hard to offer specific advise.
If it’s Photoshop, you could try Select>Colour Range, pick the main stone colour and use the slider to select more or less either side of the colour.

yes i’m using photoshop, i’ve tried color range but i cant get anything good out of it, i know i probably wont be able to select what i want just like that but i’m looking for the best way to get me at least close so then i can go in and finish it off without spending too much time.Here’s an example of the kind of textures i was referring to.
