still: Amarhys - The Lost Civilisation

#1

Here some screenshots from the game “Amarhys - The lost civilisation”.

Amarhys is a myst-like game I am working on for about 3 years. 3D views have all been designed under 3DS Max.

A first playable demo is now available for download on my website at www.amarhys.com.
The website is French but demo is French and English. I’ve performed translation myself and English is not my native language so please be indulgent. I am still looking for people who could help me to translate Amarhys texts.

Here a direct access to download page : Download

The final game will be 100% free.

Regards
Amarhys

I released an English version of Amarhys website.
You will find :

  • a screenshot gallery with some rendering info
  • many Max scripts I wrote for this project
  • a first tutorial explaining how I created and mapped the mountain geometry
  • a project history (at the end of the book in gallery section)
  • the demo

but i think i got stuck… :frowning:

#10

 Yeah, I think I also got stuck. I opened the box and after that I couldn’t figure out where to go.

#11

i might give a hint here :wise:

it’s possible to click on certain areas of collected items if you look at them, took me some time to figure that out

Very nice work! Cool renders and in-game animations are flawless. Loved the paper texture in the book. The control system is really similar to myst but less intuitive in some bits. Looking forward to the final version!

Congrats!! :applause:

#13

That’s great man!Well done.
Very reminiscent of Myst/Riven (both of which I liked very much).
I look forward to updates

Thanks for the hint Ubersquid…I was stuck too…hehe

#14

Awesome! I can see a strong influence of Myst/Riven here
Great hazy atmosphere, and tropical waters… I hope to have some time this weekend to try out the game. Well done, and best of luck for the rest of the game development!

#15

lol, thanks for the hint! :bounce:

now i finished it!!! :buttrock:
well…a bit short  but excellent work on the game, keep it up

Trees and hills looks a bit too blobby…but is only my opinion.the water is great!

Just love everything you’ve done with this! Your webpage is very entertaining as well! Love all the info you squeezed in there. I can really see a good use of your tools! I myself is about to start modeling landscapes and your script will come handy. I apreciate the tutorial as well.

I work with webpage building/design myself and this webpage of yours was just amazing. Everything was perfect. Not a glitch

So to the 3D, it’s all really beautifull but i would love to see it all move. Like making every picture loop-able. So the trees wave and the water moves… and the windmill - well maybe it will start moving haven’t got that far yet in the game.

One thing about the interface of the game that was anoying was that when you do something and you get a message - you need to wait till it disapear to continue… it doesn’t seem like you can click away the message… the message should just apear but not stop/halt the gameplay.

Way cool project that has nothing to envy from the big games in this style of playing!
Well done man!
I like a lot! And the renderings are awesome!

Although I have to agree with FluKe73 about the waiting time when a dialoge box is appear!

BTW : What program did you use for authoring!

Waiting the final version!

jea the messages were a bit disruptive,
sometimes when i didnt want to wait i clicked, in hope the message dissapeares
but then it came again… :frowning:

and if the water and trees were moving, then it would be perfect!!
now it seems a bit…um kinda… dead

but i hope u finish it soon, cant wait playing it!
