I almost forget to mention, but my sources of inspiration to create this pic was of course all the stuff you can see when making some search on google and also the beautifull work of the talented artist “J.P. Targete”, his work was a great source of inspiration for me.

Hehe, thx
will try to make it better

Looking fantastic. Although i think the figure blends a bit too much into the background, maybe experiment with the colours for him

#27

The modelling is fantastic. To stuff and beautiful details.

The framing isn’t telling the story very clearly. All your amazing work is getting lost.

Perhaps pull one of the figures forward.

Lovely details and colors!

Hi,

here is a test of post effects done with occ, atmosphere, zdepth passes.
I always need to make changes on some elements,…
more to come

Interesting piece so far - lots of nice detailing! It would be nice if Hephaestus popped from the background more. Right now he blends into the background and my eyes are instead drawn to the bright spots in the composition: the rose window on the left, the furnace, and the armor on the right. If you adjusted the composition so that one of those first two elements was right behind him, he’d really pop!

The armor on the right feels really out of place to me. Here you have a steampunk farrier in a steampunk workshop with steampunk elements everywhere - good so far! - and then you have some armor that wouldn’t look out of place on an elf from Lord of the Rings. It contains no steampunk nor any technological elements, and not to say someone with steampunk tech couldn’t build fantasy armor - I spent last night looking at a contemporary costumer who builds similar stuff at OrganicArmor.com (You might enjoy the link!) but given the nature of the challenge, it feels out of place, imho.

Anyhow nice work so far and great take on Hephaestus… Good luck with the rest!

Thanks for your comment and advice Walrus,…

For the armor, you’re right, it really doesn’t fit in this scene, I thought to “steampunkified” it but I will probably replace the armor by another stuff,… I don’t know what,…

Thx for the link, really interesting

Cheers

For the armor on the right perhaps is better if you “steampunkified” it, 'cause you have a nice sytle on it…but maybe with less lighting in that part or with an opaque or rusty metal, have less influence on the overall scene. just a comment!

Amazing Lighting progress! :bounce:looking forward for more great work!

#33

here is an update of the armor, I finally decide to “steampunkified” it.
I’m waiting for your advices and comments.
Cheers

#34

That is really impressive looking. Steampunkish too.

#35

for this, I add some parts on Hephaistos and modify the armor.
I also make some color and fx tests,…

#36

Happy new year to all of you.

All the best for 2009
