now thats more like a big bad wolf, hahahaha, nice fenrir man, give me some inspiration for my fenrir, i’ll post it if my fenrir done, hehehehe
Cheers, Niall, as Fenris has been perhaps the hardest modelling task I have ever been given. I would like to thank Airflow and Simjoy for being there during the long hours to guide me when I’ve hit a brick wall. Oh, and for modelling the head as well.:arteest:
I would like to take this oppertunity to invite only the bravest of you all to join us for the last month of work on the Ragnarok project. The work that will be left is animation and rendering…
But understand that I am not asking for just anybody. We need those who are not just there as “moral support”, but have the time and dedication to knuckle down. I myself am turning away overtime at my day job to ensure this project gets done.
If you are for real, and have 3dsMax 2009, and have the time to work on this project, then please sign up right here on this thread. Skills in UVing, rigging, animation and rendering are desired, but a willingness to learn and determination to see a project through to completion are also highly prized.
Cheers.
Ok, a few modelling changes to facilitate animation, but the front end has now been successfully rigged by Airflow. Just the rear end to do now.
Another view. Fenris should be a lot simpler to rig given his different construction. Hopefully we will all be back on this full time very shortly …
looking very impressive guys you should take this up as a hobby:)
don’t know if its of any use to you but the latest issue of 3dworld mag has got some centroid horse mocap data on the cover disk in fbx format.
keep up the great work:beer:
LOL, well Craig you shall be seeing more of my “hobby” in 2009, right after this project ends in febuary.
He walks … well he has the ability too, still got make him do it … you can lead a horse to water but …

Anyway, a Happy ans safe new year to you all.
Sadly, Boone has, due to personal reasons, decided to leave this project. Unfortunately this leaves Airflow and I little alternative but to terminate this challenge entry.
The remaining time is nowhere near enough for the two of us to complete this project to the standard we desire (or require) in the free time we have available.
We considered transferring our entry to the still image category, but the requirements are such that we would be ineligible, i.e. no team entries. Since all our assets were created by several individuals, we are unable to do this.
WE would like to thank everyone for their support in helping us get this far, and wish continued good luck to all those still competing. We will still be around to support other entries …
Thank you all once again …
Simjoy, airflow, boone
Sad to hear Simon…
just wait to see the still image now… that could be great anyway…
I just hope you feel okay… and I wish you an happy new year… for all the team ![]()
To be honest, i don’t know if i can make it either, but hey, it wouldn’t be the first time the challenge got extended. It used to be enough for a 3d still image, but damn, for animated short it’s way too little. Just take a look at all entries and see how far they are from completion. There are a few freaks that got quit far, but it there are not too many, it’s a big chance we’ll see an extension.
And if it doesn’t come, well it should be a great portfolio piece with little effort afterwards. Otherwise all work is gone.
So my advice: Just keep working :bounce:
I’m gonna do the same thing as long as i don’t run into some major software probs again. I had one last week but i got over it.
cheers
I know. Its how we feel. But I cant see how were going to get things rendered much less animated. every bodys busy. Ive put off one job for the challenge and Im starting a new one today.
So there just isnt enough time to get it how we want. We may continue just to have an end image.
some updates on fenris btw.
