Atlas is the titan who’s work is to carry on his shoulder the “celestial vault” (I’m not sure if thats the way to call it in english) and his work is really hard… So he tried to make his work easier by getting some steampunkish cyborg parts. This way his work would be more bearable, even if he has to do it for eternity.
