Steampunk Myths and Legends Entry: Samuel Burton

#19

Thanks for the comments so far guys.
As for the concepts being in a comic style, that’s just the way
I concept everything because I was into comic book art
before I began 3d. After the comments though, I suppose
it could have been cool to have this as the 3d treatment to
the characters.

More modeling.
Just assembling the gear now…Gotta get more straps and gears to pull of the steampunk look.

#21

Very good modeling, full of details! Good luck!

#22

damn, very stylized sketches with wonderful feel and superb modelling… this gonna rock  I hope you will push it up to the end. As it was written concepts are far from models in style and mood, but it’s just a beginnig, so I hope it will match later

#23

Woah…awesome! Your hard surface modelling skills are great!

#24

Hey man, your model is looking impressive so far. I’m doing a version of Zeus for my challege (if anything ever gets done lol) so I don’t appreciate the level you are taking this to…:argh: just kidding man its looking pretty sweet.

how many polys is this in maya?

#25

Excellent modelling, it hurts my head to see how detailed you’re getting on this one - good job you’re only doing two characters I reckon!!

Keep it up and best of luck…

#26

Just great modelling, very clean and nice shapes, except some errors with ear.
Keep on, I think this will look great with textures !

#27

Just about to wrap up the Thor model and start on Argus.
I’ll post the complete view of him soon with a turntable. For now here is an update to display the rotor assembly built into the front of the armor. More updates to come.

#28

nice job so far , looking forward to see the video  , gonna be great , anyway keep it up

#29

OK,… here is a quick shot of Thor’s backpack thats done, well… as done as its gonna get. His turntable should be up this weekend with the model completely finished and then its on to the Argus monster( which will take forever).Hope to post the storyborads soon so everyone can get a grip on whats happening in our battle and why. Crits and Comments Welcome.

#30

hey hey! someone’s being a beast in this contest! I hope this won’t end up as an incomplete entry like many beastly threads i’ve seen from past competitions. would love to see this thing in motion! best of luck!

Wow man holy crap your hardSurfacing skills are insane! I think the face needs a twist of that style you have going on with the rest. Other than that continue to kick some butt man. :buttrock:

#32

Alright, I really wanted keep up and post everyday so here is another WIP. Just straight modeling so far, Haven’t done any z-brushing yet to get the small ornate details yet to really get that victorian/steampunk feel. Crits welcome

#33

Man, thats some crazy work right there. How you going to rig all those peices moving without intersecting each other. Gonna be interesting to follow this.

#34

Thanks for the replies guys.

Airflow: There will be proxy objects applied to all the
leather pieces and buckles for dynamics to prevent
object intersection

#35

I really like these kind of modeling full of details :applause:

Cu,
Jeff

#36

Strong modelling here!!!

Hope you guys got the power and machine capacity (perhaps wuth steam chilled processors…) to animate and handle these detailed monsters.

wait for full figures and ACTION!
