After spending ages ruminating on which myth, legend or story to run with, I settled on Hades and Persephone, as it would allow me to focus on character design with some background fun thrown in! I’m planning on shoving them both in a steampunk version of hell, with glowy boilers and lots of jules verne-esque detailing. Fun!

Good seeing you active in this, Sam. Lovely costume designs so far! I love the 2 devil images in the upper right (especially that head-shot with the goggles.) As for Persephone, I think I like the two corseted ones with the long flowy full dresses best. But beautiful work all around!

Finally! So glad you’ve updated!
And one of my favorite stories, too. 
I’m with Walrus on the Persephone sketches, but I think maybe some softer elements to her costume might help? Something that brings some real contrast between her and Hades (who should be very dark, and mechanical looking–and you better keep those horns cause they’re wicked fun!)

Thanks for the kind words on my thread! I LOVE this idea- I have nothing useful to say outside of “can’t wait to see this”. The drawings are excellent- the Persephone on the left side, lower, has a beautiful stylized quality, like a tapestry.

You already know how obssessed I am with this myth. What a great choice! You’ve already defined the perfect mood for this pair and I’m curiuos to see what your concept for the background will look like.
I’m with Melissa in saying that Persephone needs to be softened up a bit to contrast with Hades, but another way to look at it is perhaps she’s been ‘acclimated’ to Hades environment? I’m sure that some contrasting color schemes will help the pair out too.
If you DO go more inhuman and robotic with Hades, I’d love to see how you do that! Maybe some funky cyborg bits in various places? I can totally see him with mecha legs.
It’s gonna be grand fun! Keep it up hon!
