Steampunk Myths and Legends Entry: Sabrina Bott

#161

lol funny I like how it looks :bounce: and ur promise will keep me alive for a while :wip:

#162

Hey Sabrina, that diving suit is looking excellent. It could have more wrinkles to simulate an old style suit or not, this is after all steam-punk and also your picture so it can be made any way you imagine. There is no wrong way so do what you think is best.

#163

Hey Sabrina,

I see there is lots going on over here.
I must say,the new angle of your composition and lay-out is a fast improvement,so much more you can do with it.
Realy great looking diver Sabie.
Looking forward to more.
Cheers for now.
Corrie.

#164

Cool update! I like those well defined creases on the suit and the the diving gear fits
your style pretty good!
Having another look at your portfolio after all these updates, I gather you got some
rich background in traditional painting and human anatomy, Do you still paint?
Good luck and have fun with the challenge!

Hey Sabrina,

Great work so far. Like a lot the mood on all of your designs  The diver´s model is really cool The air tank is awesome!!

Morning Lolo,

noooo, as a result of all my hairtest I’ve invented a new rule: The only good hair, is the hair you can hide!:scream:

Morning Per, thanks for the explanation, I understand now what you mean with ‘squeezed’ and keep this in mind for his final outfit. Cool references, especially the last one is a masterpiece of design, but I leave this one for Lolo, in exchange for the glass-helmet idea:twisted: …

Hi Christopher, yes, something like this I had in mind, but I’m rambling here too:) …

Hey Tony, that’s even better for me, thanks! And by the way, how is Osiris, we’re waiting for the updates!

Hi Jim, thanks for the support and maybe the suit will change with all the good inspiration I’ve got here.

Hey Corrie, especially a lot of fun is going on here, but you’re right, enough space in the new composition to fill now, I only need the time to do some serious modeling…And speaking about time: I’m still waiting to see your entry!

Hello Mathias, thanks for the nice words and actually I’ve no traditional art education at all, I’ve gathered the most of my anatomy and 2d-“skills” in Rebeccas anatomy forum here…with all the workshops and feedback there it’s a really inspiring place.

Hi Fernando, glad to here you like my “design”, and thanks for your visit!

With some new ideas in mind, that need time to settle, I leave the diver alone for a while and start my female character…it will be easier to add the details, when the main elements are in place. At the moment I’m collecting some references for victorian outfits…

Have all a nice day!

Hey Sabie !

wow , am I late for commenting these updates or what ? …

The diver is looking great of course , fine details I say  *
I just can’t wait to see your female victorian style modeling

Have great evening !

cheers ,

-Steph

Hey Steph,

well, never to late for your visit, glad that you like the diver so far, more details are needed…I would also like to see the lady started, but it was time for me to catch my bi-yearly flu:scream: …so I’m even more slowed down and you’ll have to be careful with your snailing tiara:D …

Anyways a small update will follow soon , also to make my mental to-do-list…

-sabrina

#169

hmmmm dear… I don’t know if it’s a very challenge :banghead:

Please, give me your adress… and I’ll send you a wagon full of motivation :bounce: :wip:

c’mon baby… go to work :deal:

#170

Lolo, how sweet…

the challenge is more to catch a breath between coughing and sneezing and see something with my bloodshot eyes:cry: …but as always you’re very motivating:D

c’mon baby… go to work

yesss sirrr!

-sabrina

#171

As suggested I’ve slightly changed the camera to get a more exaggerated perspective, the diver is posed now to see where more details are needed and I’ve played with the lighting to get an underwater-feeling…

#172

Cool… an update here…

well… for me it’s a better view… but not enough deformated… all vertical lines are too much straight… anyway… that comes… keep the way…

…I’m waiting the fish bench

#173

Great looking Sabrina.
Hope you are feeling better from the flue. Or has it just started?
Don`t sit to close to the screen when you answer this. I don’t want to get infected.:wise:
Looking at this there should be a hammer hanging there and a sign “emergency break glass”. And maybe the woman stretching for the hammer and looking at the diver man with longing love in her eyes…

#174

Ahhh -an update here - well done, with the flu and all!
I really liked your idea of giving him a window cleaner - and perhaps making her a fine lady the “lady of the world /man of the people” could make a really romantic situation … the queen and servant bound by a love they can never make true :cry:
All right, gonna stop now before I’ve invented a whole cheap romance novel from your scene - see what happens when you make a good mood like this?

#175

looking good Sabrina …keep going :scream:

#176

Hey Lolo, not enough deformated? Perhaps the flu makes me stupid, but I’m not sure what you’re after, this is a pretty much wide angle and even if I go with a true fisheye lens effect, the deformation wouldn’t appear along the line of the vanishing point, not?

But I can do something for the fish bench, I guess painting some fishes and other underwater fauna for the background can be pretty relaxing:) …

Hi Per,

Don`t sit to close to the screen when you answer this. I don’t want to get infected
Yeah, yeah, the flu makes lonely:sad: , even the cat prefers to keep at distance…and yes, it’s still getting worse! But thanks for the comment, and maybe using the waterlock will be safer than a hammer…unless she has some gills

Hey Gunie, hehe, thanks for the nice story…just now I’m really unromantic, but this will hopefully change during the week…and I hope your other workload will change too, I’m eagerly waiting to see more of the Skylla-story:deal: !

Hi Tony, ah, thanks for this, now I know what I’ve missed this morning…

#177

Hi Sabrina…is it too late to comment too  ???

I like the diver and corridor (i won’t comment on Lady…too soon ) .
The only thing i would …switch is the liitle gizmo on diver’s right…i would put this on the other side of corridor…and i would put the submarine behind him …and much bigger also.
I am no expert on framing for static images…but i think it would add to general action in view.

Dimi. :bounce::bounce::bounce:

#178

The fisheye give deformation of course, but I don’t think that will be enough… PotatoHead have right… that need a bit of more action… and of course, straight light don’t give easily this thing…
I don’t know if that can help… always to follow my first visions of your work… trying to give more action and more depth… ->

and that give you also more place to put other steampunk machines… fish or beast… algaes, victorian details, … :arteest:

#179

Hey Sabrina,

Hope that you feel better my friend

Really nice mood on your image  I agree with laurent about perspective issue. Perhaps you can try a curved corridor, like a donut , and connect the end on the background with some sort of building, only a comment  Really nice work and waiting for more updates! All the best!

#180

Hello Sabrina,
I am agree with lemog and other postings about framing.
One small addition; the small ship is exactly between the view of that two characters; I would replace that ship (see edited pic based on lemogs post) or change the angle to correct that.
