Steampunk Myths and Legends Entry: Sabrina Bott

#281

Hi Christopher,

Wow, took me so long to write my reply, you finally posted before me!
Hehe, I’m not sure, one of the servers has obviously a time problem or I’m posting quicker than myself…anyways nice to see you back (still waiting to see your thread updated:twisted: ) and of course a Happy New Year for you too.
I feel like the trike is a bit too big…it’s hiding (or will potentially hide) a lot of stuff in the backround. and also maybe look too important compared to the lady
I’ve moved it a little in the background for the next update, of course it’s still hiding a lot, but these elements are not so crucial for the scene I think…
but finish the bottom of her dress in a more Victorian style, to remind the Victorian elements you have in the background
You see soon that the skirt has a little volant, I hope this is enough to remind of a victorian style…Thanks for the hints!

Hi Nathan, thanks, glad that you like her! I just hope that she’ll fit good in the scene:scream: …

Morning Lolo,

About the clothes, I don’t imagine something like that…
would be interesting to hear your thoughts, perhaps I can still change something…
…but I want to see her quickly in the scene
Then I have to hurry up:bounce: !

#282

Morning Sabie… in fact, I’ve imagined something more as black or purple leather… with Victorian Steampunk broderies… :wise:

#283

Lolo, black leather…that would certainly give a very different look, and Gunie also suggested leather…I’ll see if I have the time to try it! But finally I have all together, so I can show the scene first…

-sabrina

#284

This is what I have so far, just a quick compo to see if this can work…

#285

waouw… she’s beautiful… don’t know if you need to try the leather version… it’s great like that !

that works :applause:

#286

Yep, I agree with Lemog. It looks really good. And the light colour of her clothing helps her to stand out.

It sure is fun to see all the elements in the scene. You’re making great progress

#287

Hey Sabrina very nice progress. All elements together are looking great. You are almost done know rest can be done in photoshop:)

#288

Looks great! Don’t change a thing for her dress, it’s perfect now

#289

Morning Sabie…

yep :bounce::bounce::bounce:

#290

Lolo, Mark, Roshan, Gunie:
thanks a lot for the feedback:love: and I’m so glad to hear that this works, I was already prepared for some last-minute-changes and so relieved that I can work now with this:bounce: !
I’ve started to paint like hell, hope that I get it together in the remaining time:arteest: …

Have all a great day!

#291

a close-up of the still-wip-diver…I’ve started to get rid of the very clean look, added some moss to the glas, detailing the background…

#292

Looking lovely, Sabrina! I really like her dress… I would suggest a few more things in the water, waterweeds, bubbles, random things- all things you can put in PS. I’m looking forward to seeing the finished article!

keep going! :wip:

#293

Hey Sabrina,

Awesome updates. The girl and the dress are really great!
Think the pose of the diver is a bit symethric, maybe different position on one arm and leg, only a comment  Again, awesome work! and cant wait to see finished your concept!

#294

Morning Sabie…

yes, you are in the good way… the first addition are very good, and as Peppie said… a bit lire thing will be again more good for your image…

deep are rich… for water comes true… that need material inside… all these bubles… plants… planctons… etc

Care with the pipes… they seems to be doesn’t affected by their environment, especially in the sea… and by the provided lighting of the hall…

that sounds good Sabie… just continue like that :buttrock:

Nice day for you !

#295

Yeah, looks really good. Perhaps some dirt on the glass between the camera and the diver to make it clear he’s outside, but that’s just nitpicking. You’re definitely on your way with a stunning thing here. :buttrock:

#296

Hey Theresa, nice to have you here for a visit and thanks for your comment…and I’m already busy adding bits and pieces overall, and some bubbles for the diver are a good idea:thumbsup: !

Hi Fernando, thanks for the nice comment…the pose of the diver…yes, not very expressive:shrug: , but I don’t think that it’s enough time to make some major changes and somehow I like him this way!

Hi Lolo, yep, there will come some more stuff for the water…I’m just afraid to do too much, I like the clear lines and colors, but I try:arteest: …Of course your right with the pipe, I’ve made some changes…thanks for the hint, I’m already kind of blind for the obvious :hmm: !

Thanks Gunie, good to hear you like it so far and I’ve picked up your suggestion for the window, perhaps too much now?

It would be good to let this rest for a day and have a fresh look then, but unfortunately I’m very late…

my to-do-list:

-more stuff for the water, bubbles, perhaps some fishes above and a few tiny submarines in the depth…
-a little dirt-work for the trike
-more work on the hair and if I find the time I want to paint some earrings and other tiny details for the lady
-adding a decent DOF-effect

Crits and suggestions are very welcome!

-sabrina

#297

Another detail-shot, I’ve followed the suggestions to add more dirt to the window and changed the pipes and I’ve rendered the character again, the version before was to low in renderquality…

#298

The current state of the overall composition…

#299

Perfect:). You can also add some water bubbles going upwards. Closer to divers helmet. Like these

And the smoke can be a little Grey, a bit not too much.

#300

Like the evolution

And the framing is really interesting …
