Oooooooooooh… that changes a lot than your previous realization…but it’s so good… a true good look ![]()
…and I like much your render ! Super update… curious to discover it finished :arteest:
Steampunk Myths and Legends Entry: Sabrina Bott
Yes, the style is dead on!
Finally the driver will be more comfortable!
Exactly what I had in mind! I love the small details like the steps and stuff. And again a different render style to present it, but just as beautiful! Indeed, everyone is really busy around the holidays…it’s a hard time to be completing a challenge! But hopefully we can find some small time chunks here and there and find a way to complete our images! Good luck!
Its looking very elegant, i like it. If your struggling for things to add, think about how she would control the vehicle etc,
Hi Sabrina, the trike looks fabulous! But I have to point out one little detail about the mechanics before you get any further, it looks to me, that your piston connecting rod needs to be offset from your crankshaft in order to create circular motion. See here: nice diagram So all you need to add is a crank between you crankshaft and your connecting rod. Unless I am mis-reading how your device works? Humbly, Jim
Hey Sabrina
Awesome model, love the design on it, really cool! Great details, with elegant touch for sure. Superb work Sabrina!
This coming along so nicely. I like the design a lot. Some more gears and props and texturing on the way.Keep updating Sabrina:thumbsup:
Hi Sabrina, that vehicle is looking fantastic! I love the design of it.
I thought Jim made a very interesting comment about the piston, by the way. If you wanted to adjust that I don’t think it would need much work at all. In fact, I ran the idea past the ducks and they suggested a very small change. Just add a wheel and instead of seeing the piston, you would now see the connecting rod. Here’s a quick sketch - looking at it from the same angle as your render, with those added bits

By the way, the ducks were also mighty impressed with your design. One of them said if it had a beak on it, then it would be perfect
Morning Sabrina.
Wonder full rendering and beauty full details!
Of curse I agree with all Marks comments. Apart from the beak.
A Viking helmet for safety and inhansment of beauty would be more appropriate I think.
Actually some parts that looks like it is designed by the same guys (or girls) that make diving equipment would be nice to mix in some how.
Little round windows on the boiler or something…:hmm:
Hi Sabrina,
Nice details your adding.I love details.
I found a theme I want to work with ,now i must just find some time(hold thumbs)
Cheers.
Hi Nick, nice to have you here for a visit and thanks a lot for your kind comment!
Hi Lolo, glad that you like it so far!
… curious to discover it finished
Oh yes, me too:curious: …
Hey Christopher, good to hear that you appreciate the drivers comfort now! And about the holidays, it’s usually a time for family and friends for me, lot of visits, god meals and I enjoy to be a little lazy…but I’m so far behind my plan now, that I’m not sure that I can finish in time this way:scream: …
Hi James, thanks!.
If your struggling for things to add, think about how she would control the vehicle etc
Good point, though I try to keep this simple…at least a power on/off control would be reasonable:wise: …
Hey Jim, of course your totally right, the connecting rod is atm not connected at all, I’ll take care of this…
Hi Fernando, thanks for the nice comment!
Hello Fotis, glad that you like the design, I’ll add a little more stuff, but I’m already looking forward to unwrap and texture it:rolleyes: …I guess you’ve made your texturing work mainly in zBrush? I’m really curious to discover a little of your workflow when the challenge is over…
Hi Mark,
By the way, the ducks were also mighty impressed with your design. One of them said if it had a beak on it, then it would be perfect
Oh, I’m flattered to read this, that’s a great compliment, though I doubt that I can add a beak here …but your solution for the piston connection is very elegant and fits well in my concept, so you’ll discover it with the next update, thanks!
Hey James, nice to see you again here and thanks for the support!
Hey Per, thanks, and I try to pick up the style of diver and hallway with the textures, even if I have no concrete idea right now…
A Viking helmet for safety and inhansment of beauty would be more appropriate I think.
I’d have a hard time to sell this, I guess the lady prefers something more elegant…and that reminds me, that I’ve not even really started the character…I have to run!
Hi Corrie, I only believe it, when I actually see your thread:D …that will be tough with not so much time left…I’m crossing my thumbs!
I was too busy with other stuff, only added bits and pieces and of course connected the rod:wise: , little update will follow soon. I hope I can at least unwrap all of this during the weekend and test some textures…
Wish you all a great weekend!

I like this machine for christmas to take a ride…but I want it with that super cool horn which it sounds so cooool http://es.youtube.com/watch?v=uQqyreXePEo
That is a mighty fine vehicle now! To me it looks like it would work as a charm but who am I to argue with the ducks on this?
You may have mentioned this already but who will be riding that thing? The lady?
Good Morning!
Hey Gonzalo, a steamtrike ride instead of a “one-horse open sleigh”? You’re invited:) …and the horn is really cool, I already thought to animate the trike just for fun when the challenge is over, then I’ll give it this horn!
Hi Gunie, thanks and yep, better not to argue with the ducks, especially if they are right …and the lady will drive this vehicle, she’s just taking a break to wave “good-bye” to the diver…I hope to make this clearer with the next update, placing an indispensable accessory on the seat:D .

I’ve modeled some additional stuff and made some changes here and there. And of course the rod is connected now
A first material test is on the way…
Good morning Sabie…
héhé… all come really nice here… the good feeling is here ![]()
Nothing to crit at this point, the way is good… and I wish you a nice week, of course, I hope to see more updates until Christmas :wavey:
Hey like your steamtrike and yous concept …
And the render is really nice …
Keep up the good work !
Hi Sabrina. You re doing great with modeling the vehicle. It brings this “steampunk feel” to the scene that i find most enjoyable.
Nothing special about the shaders i did on icarus.Bigger parts unwarped and painted in zbrush and ps.I also used some procedurals for small parts(the model is quite dense cause i did it in z) and tiled metal textures.
Like Lemog said i hope to see more updates till Christmas.
Keep working, its looking very promising:thumbsup:
Hehe, lovely touch with the handbag - and now the bike is totally ladylike
Hope to see more before Christmas and if not - have a great Xmas!
