Steampunk Myths and Legends Entry: Sabrina Bott

For some reason I never noticed the caustics before, those look super.

The great thing about 3d is you can change camera angles and settings at will, sometimes as one works on an image and zooms around the viewport one can find cool POVs. But do what you think is right, follow your vision.

Hey Dimi, it’s never too late for some good suggestions and I totally agree with the “more action in view” thing! No problem to change the background, a fresh view on this is just what I needed, thanks a lot!

Hi Lolo, thanks for taking the time, now I see, it’s more a complete change of format …Somehow I was fixed to the wide screen, but I admit that your overpaint looks much more dynamic. I have to change my plans now for the additional stuff…as always your advice is more than good for me!

Hey Fernando, yes I’m almost convinced about a perspective change and a hint of other buildings in the background is a good idea too. Thanks for the good wishes and especially for your PM!

Hello Roman:wavey: , you’re right with the positions of the ships, they are on another layer, so it’s easy to adjust, thanks for the hint.

Hi Jim, you haven’t noticed the caustics before, because I’ve just added them:D …and yes, it’s nice to play with the camera, but sometimes I just don’t see the good solutions…so it’s great to have all the feedback and suggestions here, thanks!

So many updates:eek:. Water looks cool with those caustics. As far as perspective is concerned you have to play a bit with the cameras. You can do one thing work with four to five cameras at a time. And once you are convinced delete the other cams or post them over here for C&c’s:)

Keep up the good work:)

Good morning Sabrina,

I’m just getting around to seeing your new updates! It’s really looking good! I like the caustics and the overall “water” feel. A lot of good suggestions have been given already. If I would just add something, it would be the diver’s feet. If he’s swimming around washing windows or whatever, wouldn’t he need some kind of fins on his feet?! It’s pretty hard to swim with boots!

Hope you’re feeling better btw!

Looking realy good Sabrina.Just follow you gutt and it is going to look wonderfull.
This is my last week at work then I’m on leave,so hopefully I’ll start soon.
Hope you find more time to create.

Cheers,Corrie

Great update, Sabrina  Maybe if the camera was shifted around to be closer to the woman, but slightly behind her, then it might help a bit. Because currently both figures are the same distance/size from the camera and I think it might be nice have some variation there. With the woman such an important part of the scene I’m curious about seeing her closer to the camera. I do like the impression of looking down that glass tunnel too, so the change in camera angle which I’m wondering about is only a minor one. I suppose it would mean that we’re seeing the woman from behind but with some nice reflections in the glass we could also see the expression on her face.

By the way, the vastness of the water makes a wonderful background. All that blue! Beautiful!

i love the details on the walkways arches.

good work you got here!

#188

I really like the colors you’ve chosen for the diver, and his over-all design. They compliment the image well, and help to bring attention to him- which is important since he is hiding down on the left side of the image.

Good Morning!

Hey Roshan, many updates? I’m not sure, atm I don’t see the real progress, but I hope for the weekend:rolleyes: …

And once you are convinced delete the other cams or post them over here for C&c’s
Yes, good idea, I can’t decide between 2 formats, so I’ll post them later to hear some opinions! Thanks for your support!

Hi Christopher,

wouldn’t he need some kind of fins on his feet?! It’s pretty hard to swim with boots!
Steampunk diver with fins:scream: ??? No way, he needs heavy boots…but because I’m a kind person I’ll think of something as a swimming aid for him, steampunky of course:D …Thanks for your visit and the nice comments!

Hey Corrie,

Just follow you gutt and it is going to look wonderfull

Oh thanks, I like to hear this, but atm my guts are pretty much undetermined:curious: , maybe it’s the flu…

This is my last week at work then I’m on leave,so hopefully I’ll start soon.

Great, I’m looking out for your thread!

Hey Mark, thanks, as always you have some good points here and I’ll rethink the position of the characters, but I need a camera angle like this, because of other scene elements that are in my mind, but unfortunately not sketched or modeled yet:banghead: …

Hello Nelson, nice to have you here for a visit!

love the details on the walkways arches.
Thank you, now I know why I keep at least this construction through my many changes of concept here:) !

Hi Aaron, nice to hear that you like the diver and I’ll try to keep the colors similar to the preview…Thanks for the visit!

Now I really have to make up my mind about the format, I’ll upload a picture soon to compare the two possibilities I’m struggling with… I’ve already picked up some suggestions that came up here and finally decided about the story and the scene elements I want to add, so stay tuned:)

Good morning Sbrina.
I`m all tuned up and ready for more.

#191

Hey,Sabrina just drop by to say I like the compostition. I too ,like lemogs suggestion but its your story after all.
Go on:wip:

#192

Hey Per, so I can’t let you wait so long!

Hi Fotis, thanks for the support, I also like both versions…I just can’t decide:banghead:

Perhaps it helps to show both side by side.

Fernando suggested to make the hallway more curved and I like the result. Meanwhile I’ve decided to picture a “departure”-story, the hallway will be more of a gangway and aside the lady will be a transport vehicle for her and the luggage…sorry no sketches yet…there is still the decision between high and wide format! All suggestions are welcome.

#194

yea I like curved hallway …about the story I think this should be cool so keep going

#195

The curved hallway is a great idea! will be quite cool to see her with luggage and stuff!

Keep it up!!

#196

Yup me too. I like the curved hallway:thumbsup:

#197

Yea baby! this is looking real good now. I like the curved hallway and that you have put more structures in the back there to. even more Victorian style glass houses would be even grater.

#198

Hi Sabrina,

Humm, what kind of propulsion device will you come up with! I’m intrigued! The new curved hallway is definately a great addition! I prefer the vertical composition, I think it’s much more dynamic. Although the characters seem a little deformed…maybe that’s cause it was just a quick mock-up sketch… But I do like the background elements that are to the left in the horizontal image, maybe bring those back to the left of the tunnel in ther vertical one.

Let us know which you pick!

What’s the next step?

#199

I like the horizontal composition better, there are so many verticals in the wall struts already that to go with a vertical format doesn’t feel right to me.

The curved hall looks great.

#200

The curved room looks great now and the view of the water surface from below is to nice to cut away I think… but both formats could work well here. Splendid update!
