Steampunk Myths and Legends Entry: Robert Angol
Very rough concept. Dont have much time as I jumped over from the video entry.
Odin here is leapind down to kill fenris with his spear. Ill switch round the head of the wolf so its not easy to assume somthing is getting toasted that shouldent.
Hey Robert. I can see what you’ve been telling me regarding the low opacity passes and whatnot. Concept is look cool, let’s see the rest of it now
I like the composition Rob,
its quiet rough though, if i were you id trace over with cleaner lines
over n out
Best of luck Mr A, although with your skill you wont need it. Looking forward to seeing this one finished.
The background was quickly blocked out in mudbox, Ill post the low poly and sculpt mesh later. Next up is fenris’s body and pre-built head.
The mood is very nice on this piece,I am very curious to see how it develops, best of luck on your late entry(like myself)!
Thanks guys.
A few more tweaks on ondin and Ill make an update He should be rendering at full res toningt, so that leaves the wolf and the vfx to do…
Might do a animated gif of odins head being built.
Glad to see you’re not just abandoning the models you worked so hard on before!
I think the angle doesn’t do justice to the original concepts.
I think making use of the slepnir model would help out here. Let’s see some more fleshed out concept art though before we get in depth with crits huh?
Thanks, I dont think Ill be going any further with the concept art as this is a 3d entry. Had I more time Id have probably done a 2d illustration as it always seems to have more soul.
Slepnir and Fenris’s old body cant be used as I did not model them, and for me to be able to enter here I have to have created everything myself.
Ive done a full res test render which came in at 2 hours for a 3.8k image, so now all thats left is fenris’s body, the particles and debris and the flames and smoke.
This is gonna be tough.
awesome to see progress on this. IMO this upper angle is really taking away from the image. I closer side view or something would be alot better. As is… you can’t see any strong detail in the models and I’m not fully understanding the environment at that view.
Keep it up dude! I know this will turn out KILLER!!! Just my 2 cents…
Thanks. Ive already concidered that, and may go with a tilt on the camera so se can see abit more from the side. Im gonna use image B for Fenris’s positioning. Updates in about an hour for the main body.
Ok, last milestone before I start rendering out everything at full res. I just got the legs to do and Im good to go.
